A Really Bad Idea

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dl5ZM02s7yA&feature=related

Aretha Franklin singing IDAD during Clinton's Inaguration...Okay, Franklin is an amazing singer an all...but who the HELL dcided it was a good idea to sing IDAD for an INAGURATION?...or to have the song rearranged as it was, which had to be done if the song were to be made more hopeful than it actual was, thus making it more appropriate for the occasion.

As much as Franklin as in one of the great Divas of music, I have to agree with the Youtubers who feel the song was ruined here, but that could be because I heard the original version first...

Anywho, I know this was ages ago, but I was obviously far too young to pay attention, so I'm asking now...What do you guys think?

Perhaps it's someone's bungled attempt to mention Having Dreams(tm) to try to reference Martin Luther King?

I guess you're probably right...but I still can't think why they chose IDAD instead some other song that would have been much more appropriate, but I do agree both posters above me, that it was an interesting and good rendition, and that it was an attempt ad refrencing the"I havea a dream" concept". I just think that the manglng of the song was unneccasery because something better could've beeen chosen.
