Antique book of Les Miserables

I thought this was very cool, especially for anybody who can read French. (or is just obsessed)

Ugh, they sliced it down to 500 pages? Unforgivable. And, apparently, either dumbed it down for students of French or loaded it down with a dictionary (no wonder they could only fit 500 pages of Hugo in there).

Ebay is packed full of old editions of LM. If you're interested in one, you can do a whole lot better than that. I got a gorgeous unabridged edition of the Wraxall translation, illustrated, and over 100 years old, for $15 including shipping.

I know, that part sucks. I just thought it was neat how old it was. It's definitely not supposed to replace the unabridged version! Just a nice little collectors item.
Huzzah for Combeferre

That's pretty cool... 1908. And it went for $4.00!
How cool would it be, if you moved into an old house, with all it's furniture and everything, and you were looking in a drawer and found a copy from the year it was published?

That would be very cool indeed Smile
