Best day to see Les Mis

I'm soooo looking forward to seeing Lea in the revival. I've never seen her in person before, and even though I wish I could've seen her as Eponine, the chance to see her as Fantine is still very exciting!

Anyway, now I'm debating which day to buy tickets for. Les Mis is showing Mon-Sat, with matinees on Wed and Sat. Which day do you think would have the best performance? I'm thinking maybe Thursday or Friday. I'd normally go Saturday, but that's the end of the week for them and you'd think they'd be exhausted. Of course, the absolute worst would be if I walked in, sat down, opened the Playbill, and saw a small sheet of paper saying, "The role of Fantine will be performed tonight by..."

29th February. Wink

Friday and Saturday performances are more expensive but any performance during the week should be fine. It's the actor's job to give the same energy level at every performance and most know how to pace themselves.

As far Lea goes, she is truly fantastic as Fantine but so are both her understudies. You'll get a great performance either way. Very Happy

Also Lea is on vacation from August 19th to September 3rd.

Hope that helps.

yeah lea was the only reason i went to watch les mis too. I was blown away, I thought she was worth the price of the show ticket and my roundtrip ticket from Los Angeles to New York.

I was so excited at the prospect of seeing Lea as Fantine... Then I got to the theatre, got my program, and saw a little slip of paper saying Lea was out that day... I was heartbroken. Nikki renee Daniels was a great Fantine, I was just bitter that I didn't get to see Lea live.

Lea is fantastic! I hope you get to see her!

I know. When I went last month, Jean Valjean, Javert, Eponine and several chorus members were all understudies. They were all excellent, but I'm sad I didn't get to see Alexander Gemignani.

Wow, I didn't know that. Thanks for the info!

Update: I just bought tickets for Tuesday, Aug 7! I'm so excitied!!! Smile Now I just need to figure out a way to meet Lea in person and get her autograph. Wink I used to wait outside stage doors when I was younger, but I haven't done that in years. Anyone have any tips? Smile

The polite thing to do is wait outside the stage door. Anything more would be considered stalking.

Has the stage door gotten any better? Last time I was there was in March, the first weekend when Lea was doing Fantine, and the door was absolutely mobbed. I didn't even get a chance to get Lea's autograph because there were so many fans around her. I'm not planning to go see the show again anytime soon, but I'm going to be in New York on Friday and if the stage door's not too bad, I may bring my Les Mis program with me and drop by after the show...
Trevor

Stage door. It's probably the only way unless you know someone in the cast. But be prepared to be trampled over by adoring Filipinos.

I am flying in next weekend to see it and I can't wait. Does anyone know how I can find out if people are gonna be out/on vacation?

Lea posted her vacation dates on her website- http://bigsis222.multiply.com/
(check the calendar)

As far as I know everyone else should be in unless they're sick or something.
