CSR Problem

Newbie here please be nice!

Yesterday I brought the CSR and I have a few questions about it...

1. Two of my songs seem faulty and don't play properly, the end of Castle on a Cloud and start of Drink with Me, did anyone else experience these problems? oh, and it's not my CD player, I tried it on 4 and none of them worked!

2. On the internet, a lot of people seem to think Anthony Warlowe is the best Enjolras, but I prefer David Burt what does everyone else think?

Thanking in advance,

Oh no, not this again.

And it's spelled Warlow.

1: Nope. My copy was fine. It might be a fluke.
2: David Burt? Well, he's better than Michael Maguire, at least. Often I wonder why more people don't seem to like him.

I actually have a faulty problem with my CSR as well, it's during One Day More and it skips is a few places. Did you just get yours? Maybe there are some problems with the newer versions or something?

As for Anthony Warlow, I personally love his voice (Love him in Secret Garden) but don't think he's my favorite Enjorlas (sorry if I spelt that wrong). I almost felt like he had too much power (if that's possible) and really disliked the way he emphasis the "DOM" on "at the barricades of freedom" in One Day More. But, that's just my personal opinion, for what it's worth Embarassed

BTW, you mentioned David Burt, I havent heard of him...does he play the role in the OLC? That's the only English Recording I don't have yet (and hope to have it soon).

You did. It's Enjolras.

And it's easy to look up.

Actually, i think i prefer Maguire to Warlow now that I think about it (he's the one on the 10th Anniversary?)I thought he a brilliantly strong voice

Urghhh

haha Michael Maguire is on the 10th Anniversary. You're right he has a strong voice - when he sings the right notes.

He does have a strong voice-but so does Warlow. It's not that his voice is weak. It's his raspiness that I consider irritating.

In terms of problems, on the CSR, I have about 2 second gap at the end of the sewers and into the part when Valjean meets Javert again. It doesn't happen on the stage, I think it's down to bad mixing.

There's also stumbling over words, the guy who attacks and then tries to have Fantine arrested says "Police" instead of "Peace" the first time. (I think that's the words, haven't got the libretto to hand)

Kaho sounds very muddled at points during The Robbery as well.

Hmm. I haven't noticed any major problems with mine, and I've played it to death over the last 2 years. Maybe I just need to keep an ear out for things like that.

I bought mine used about 11 years ago, and it's still going strong (when I have the stomach to listen to it).

I bought my first copy in 1990. You can tell too, by the thickness of the discs. Nowadays they're so slim.

I've re-purchased it twice after that, the latest being during the summer of 2004 and before that, 1998.

My original 1990 copy still plays wonderfully and it's the one I use to rip the tracks off of digitally, since the 1998 copy was stolen by my ex and the 2004 copy has lousy copy protection in it. Mad
