Favourite/best seats at Queens?

What seats do you feel are the best in the Queens theatre? Last time I went, I sat in the stalls Row E, seat 10 and it gave a wonderful view. My friend is a big fan of the dress circle...she sat in the front row on the right side and said that Shonagh Daly looked up at her when she first appeared in Look Down (I've seen both Shonagh and Gemma Wardle look up to those sitting above them in the Dress Circle at Queens, I think it's neat) I'm really not into the upper circle...for one thing, I don't like heights THAT much, and everything on stage looks really small to me.

What about you?
Fantine

Stalls, third or fourth row. I sat in row 20 or something last time I saw it and I didn't really enjoy it.

Hello

I sat in Stalls C7, and Dress Circle B16. Each has its advantages, but i think The Front of the Dress Circle is better. You are still very close to the stage AND you have the "overall" view.

Having said that, "At The End of The Day" is AWSOME from the front of the Stalls.

Stalls D14, bang in the middle of the row not too close but not too far away either, you can see the actors faces which I always like.
javertsw

Middle of Row D in the Stalls. Perfect. You feel like you are on the stage.

You're going to get better and more specific advise from people recommending their favourite seats, obviously, but for a more general overview, Theatremonkey is great. Smile

I went to see Les Mis for the first time last Dec, for my birthday treat. Ive had the tape of the 10th anniversary concert (with just the music and costumes, barely any movements at all), for many many years, so i pretty much knew all the songs by heart, but had no idea what the show actually looked like.
We got row D seats, just a few rows away from the stage! And our seats were the left most seats in the row, so we had a similar experience as Superstar83's friend during Look Down. I do not know who it was who was leaning out from that box/stage at the beginning, but the experience was so amazing. His costume and the make-up and everything... he looked right at me... Like i said, the whole experience was amazing, but i must say well done and thank you to that guy, you really transformed my experience of Les Mis, and made an 18th birthday i will never forget.

The 10th anniversary concert tape has 'the dream cast' plastered over the front of it. After seeing Les Mis at Queens, i really have to dissagree. The dream cast is there, all of the performers were just as good as, but more commenly better than the tapes in (and i mean in their singing and interpretation of their characters) then this tape i had become so attached to. I know i am going off topic, but i have to say it. And i would like to ask if anyone knows of an audio recording from Queens, can they please let me know. I am dying to hear those voices again, the tape feels very poor now, and its going to be quite a while before i get my exam results and find out if i get good grades (for which ive been promiced we'll be back at Queens again).

Glad you had a good time, I went for my birthday last december too! When did you go?

Lots of people will disagree about this cast being the 'dream'. JOJ yes but Cornell John no, but everyone's entitled to their own opinions. I just wished I'd seen Hayden, but hey John Addison was good too!

I saw it for my 18th birthday present too. Very Happy What night did you see it? I have a recording from that very December, actually.

I saw it last december as well, and I agree, the current cast is amazing, it's so sad that most of them are leaving.
On youtube.com there is a video of 'the robbery' with that cast (although it's called 'look down'), type hayden tee in the search box and it comes up. It is great to hear that cast, but it is very short...
What do mean, Orestes Fasting, about having a recording?

I mean I... have a recording. Of the London cast. On 17 December. And might just possibly upload it.

I am indeed, though you're hardly the first person to think I was a guy online. Laughing Apparently I'm not very ladylike.

Best seats are probably front of dress circle or row D/E in the centre as you would get a great view. My favourite seats are different as I quite like sitting close to see faces so like the restricted view seats in Row BB, also being slightly cheaper I can go more often.

Hey.
I saw it on the 3rd of Dec. there was an understudy playing Marius, but he was very very good. I dont know who it was though- i didnt pick up one of the fliers with the info. it wasnt untill the performance began that i realised how brilliant it was and decided to get a broucher (sp?), but they only have pick of the cast Marius, of course.
and, um, what was that you said about having a recording of the show, Orestes Fasting, cus youve got me very interested... Very Happy
Does anyone know whos leaving? can anyone point me to a thread discussing this- ive had a quick scan, but i havent really found anything much.
flying_pigs

John Addison was the guy playing Marius, I saw him too on 1st december!

Go to londonlesmis.co.uk and browse through the topics there.

All principles are going save JOJ and Tracie Bennet

bloody hell, i cant believe it. (sorry if i offend, not intended)
thanks for that info about Marius, im amazed that anyone actually knew. weird how we both went 3 days appart... small world...

I like A1 and A35 in the dress circle, they are cheap and if you don't mind leaning forward you get a good view as you are very close to the stage. I like them as you are level with the top of the bridge/barricade. Very Happy

The best seats I've sat in are row H in the stalls. It was such a different experience from when I saw it last (I sat in the upper circle) I noticed so much more, and the facial expressions were there!

I love these seats as well, always sit in them by preference (although Leg Room is atrocious)... My second prefenct Seats are any of the BB ones...

Seat A 13 (stalls)

I'd need your help. Rolling Eyes My seat is A13 (stalls). I've heard that it's a restricted view seat because the conductor is right front of you. Is that right? What's your opinion?
