Has anyone ever ordered the PRC and OFC from this website?

http://www.fglmusic.com/produit?id=747

I ordered that set this morning, and anticipate it greatly. Altogether with shipping, the cost of importing was $35.12. Not bad, considering that I'd spend $40 on the packaging-free version on iTunes.

Has anyone ordered from that official site before? I'm concerned that perhaps it isn't in stock and that I'll have to wait ages to get my CDs. However, other Les Mis CDs are listed as "unavailable" and unorderable, and this one wasn't, so I logically have assumed that this is in stock. Does anyone own this set? Can you confirm that it's the OFC and PRC packaged together? Can you give me details for what the set contains, packaging-wise?

And finally, how long do you think it'll take to get my CDs?

The price sounds really reasonable especially since I once saw the concept album on amazon for 80 bucks. I don't know much about cheaper options since a friend burned both CDs for me.
As for how long it takes to ship I think that depends on where you live. I live on the east coast (in the US) and a shipment from England took about 2 to 3 weeks. I think they would have noted on the website if it was unavailable and judging by the track list it is the two recordings together.

I bought the OFC in an Intermarche in France about three years back. I wouldn't say it is (or was) that rare.

The box contains the OFC and PRC in four cardboard slipcases and a folded poster of Cosette against a white background.

Thanks a lot. Do you have this set? Is it nice? Does it come with liner notes and/or libretti?

I have it too. It's really nice. The Cosette poster has all the lyrics on the back.
This is that one: http://www.fglmusic.com/produit?id=26

Thanks a lot. It shipped today.

What other (preferably inexpensive to find in the US) foreign recordings would you recommend? I already have the OLC, CSR, TAC, and now the PRC and OFC. I'm asking for the OBC for Christmas and will probably pick up the Manchester Highlights sometime soon (are they worth the $10 or so?)

Thus far I have my eyes on Duisburg. I've been looking for Antwerp, but can't find it anywhere for a reasonable price Any other's you'd recommend wholeheartedly, for a decent price? I don't think I'd spend much over $35 or so.

EDIT: Actually, on second thought, I may just quit now after getting all the English and French. I just wont' have the cash for all the stuff I'm into. I technically only own the CSR, PRC and OFC. The TAC and OLC I have are either borrowed from friends or from the library. Yeah, I fail.

Unfortunately, most of the other foreign recordings can be quite expensive or difficult to find. I definitely recommend the Duisburg highlights if you can find them for a reasonable price, ditto Antwerp. The 2003 Japanese recordings are excellent, but only if you like the language.

The Manchester album's okay. Best thing about it is Quast's Stars, which you can also find on the TAC and CSR.

I think I may round out my collection of English recordings, get the Duisburg and maybe the Antwerp, and stop there for now.

If anyone's looking for the OFC and/or the PRC for a reasonable price, try that website. I ordered it on Sunday, it shipped on Tuesday, and arrived on Friday. That's a five day order. From FRANCE to the Midwest USA.

If you'd prefer you can get a bundle of it with Revolution Francaise: http://www.fglmusic.com/produit?id=749

Free shipping. Basically, you'd get Revolution Francaise for a mere $4 or so, along with the French Les Mis. Great deal. Anyone who's interested should take a look.

The recordings are in a red box, with four cardboard slipcases for each disc, as well as an OFC poster with liner notes and lyrics on one side and the full white Cosette drawing on the other.

Does anyone know how one would flatten a folded up (NOT rolled up) poster to frame? Because this'd look great on my wall, but it's folded into CD size. Anyone have any suggestions?

Interesting. I have bootleg copies of the OFC and PRC, but I've been wanting to buy the legit versions for a while. Maybe I'll get 'em off that site.

Is the PRC a studio recording? The website says live, but I kinda doubt a live Paris recording exists.

And are the lyrics just for the OFC, or for the PRC as well?

The PRC is the PRC and not the "live recording" it's said to be in the promotional materials. Unless the PRC has been live all along. This recording of the PRC is the same that was released in the early 1990s.

The poster/libretto/liner notes appear to be only for the OFC.

You can completely flatten a folded poster by placing a cotton sheet over it then ironing over that on a low setting - this removes all the creases.
