Has anyone seen this yet?

I hope no one's posted it already. It's the official site for the Quebec production.

I recommend going straight to the photo gallery. The production looks fantastic- it seem to be the type I've been dreaming of, which tries to be a good production in its own right and not just a substitute for the original.

And check out the Brick-accurate details: the "Cafe Musain" sign on the window, Marius' curly black hair (though I'm not so sure about his scruffy face), his kissing dead Eponine on the forehead...

Thanks. When I found the site and saw how good the production looked, I just got excited and didn't check to see if anyone else had posted the link.

I'll do my best to go up and see this on a weekend. In fact if I can rope enough people in, I might make a big ol' road trip out of it.

...anyone wanna split the cost of a Zipcar? Very Happy

Re: Has anyone seen this yet?

I've just had a look at the site. And they do have a lot of lovely little touches!

I just love Marius' wedding outfit, much more acurate than the oficial production clothes. Oh, and Cosette's wedding dress is perfection! She is really wearing a 1830's dress, and even the hairdo is plaussible!

I also love Valjean's top hat, and the lovely ladies, and Javert dressed as a working man, and Cosette's pink dress is wonderful, and ponine's male outfit, and Enjolras umkept hair, like in the Brick (I have nightmares with maguire's toup). I also like his clothes but, was the red vest really necessary at the barricade?

Two complaints though:
Valjean looks waaaaay too young for the role, and why the hell is Grantaire wearing a worker's cap?
Fantine

At last an Eponine costume of which I actually believe that someone could mistake her for a boy.

I love the Javert photo.

And Javert's coat has triple collars... <3 It looks so awesome.

And his hair is short! He's so book-like.

It... it says Cafe Musain on the window...

...and Catherine...!

Eponine... top hat...

*faints with glee*

Looks like a great production. Wonderful orchestra! Though they sound a bit off. Hopefully they've improved. I always get goosebumps when I listen to the orchestra without the vocalists.

(LOL @ 2:29).

Did anyone else notice that Cossette was blonde? Not that I'm complaining, I'm actually very impressed with the costumes here. I still have to get used to Javert with short hair...but I'm really glad they got rid of Fantine's god-awful rope-hair wig, she looks very pretty now...so does Cosette too...quite pretty, actually.

Those costume sketches--I think I'm in love. I couldn't tell at first whether they were sketches or period engravings used for reference! And the orchestrations. Oh god. If I don't get a chance to see this I will slit my wrists.

Costumes...Javert...top hat...triple-cape coat...*dies* Those are AMAZING.

This might be due to my illiteracy in foregn languages, but... where are they on the site? I love costume sketches.

Thenardier looks great. Gavroche looks pretty much how I imagined Ron in Harry Potter.
It looks amazing, although I have to say that I prefer the Lovely Ladies in red.
Does anyone else see a resemblance between Marius and Tim Burton??

Two things:

I love Cosette's dresses and Grantaire's hat.

Actually, this whole production looks pretty damn good. I wish I could go see it.
