How do you see the characters?

Everyone has their own ideas of what each character is like, and many people disagree with interpretations. So, how do you imagine them? What (or who Wink ) do they look like? How do they sound in your head when you imagine them singing or speaking? What image comes into your head whenever you read or hear a character's name? How do you imagine they act in a scene of the book or the musical?
For example, sometimes I hear someone else reading out some dialogue, and I think "what? That's not how that character says those lines!"
So, specifically in one scene, or generally, what are your interpretations of the characters?

I really liked Enjolras the way he was portrayed at the show in Lillestrm, in Norway.

He was this fierce idealistic leader, but not completly out of thouch with reality. At the night at the barricade he went around to check if everyone was still allright.

One interesting thing i saw was that when they were singing "Drink with me" and Grantaire sings his verse about how they might not make any difference, Enjolras went over to him, borrowed his bottle and had a drink. Then he looked at Grantaire like he was saying "Maybe you are right, but we still got to see this trough." In another production i have seen he got angry with Grantaire and stormed off the stage.

I find that i rather like this more human version of Enjolras, rather than the marble statue Smile

Enjolras is, and always will be, Aaron Lazar to me.

Cosette to me should be a petite brunette, classically pretty with a light soprano voice.

I picture Eponine as me... Laughing

...Same with me and Cosette.

I picture Cosette as blond and blue-eyed, yet very small and petite. It's very cliche but it's true.

Amen. I'm in love with this man.

same with Celia... for me, her physical appearance (definitely not your typical beauty, but there's something different and special about her) and her mannerisms when she acts perfectly embody the way I've always imagined Eponine to be.

You guys too? We should seriously have an Aaron Fanclub. This is very off-topic, but I don't do celebrity crushes. I mean, I joke around about them but I never actually fall for someone I don't know. Except for Aaron... I swear, if he asked, I'd be his.

Check out www.aaronlazar.com. Great site. And if you send him an email, he will write back.

"If he asked, I'd be his..." LOL! I was thinking the same! (As for the fan-club, maybe...Rolling Eyes)

Seriously! Cool! I ought to try it!

Anyway, back on topic-I when I think of Eponine, I think of Frances Ruffelle. I think she potrays Eponine the way she should be: youthful, lonely, love-lorn. And her voice matches the character-not quite perfect, but still beautiful.

My boyfriend (who has a slight resemblance to Lazar) wants to get him to come see WSS at my school, since he played Tony when he was our age. Hmm...
