Japanese Production Clips!I believe this is from the 1994 Japanese production at Tokyo's Imperial Theatre. Ultra rarity!!Featured is none other than the great Kaho Shimada in her last stint as Eponine and the Iron Chef dude as Valjean, lol. This is too amazing for words. I don't think that's the red cast unless most of the principals happened to have understudies for this performance. That sounds like Kaho Shimada, but most of the others don't match up. | ||||

The video is, I believe, from around 2000. The cast list as far as I know:
Takeshi Kaga (Valjean), Souma Suzuki (Javert), Kaho Shimada (Eponine), Honoka Suzuki (Fantine), Takako Horiuchi? (Cosette), Katsumi Toi (Marius), Haruhiko Saitoh (Thenardier), Kumiko Mori (Mme Thenardier), Kohjiroh Oka (Enjolras) Interesting. I'd seen those videos before, but not Empty Chairs and the finale. I really liked the camerawork in the finale. Also--and here's where I drop my respectable fa�ade and let the fangirliness show--I want to have Kojiro Oka's babies. Holy crap. |

I thought Kaho made her last appearance in 1994? Hmmm...I think I recall hearing she did it again in 2000 but not sure. I'm certain it's her though.
The marching in "One Day More" is kinda funny but Enjolras' little dance after he first appears is hilarious!!! Mahahaha! Love it! 
I love this cast. VERY strong voices. |

"Armed and bloody street insurrection? OMG, Christmas in June!" Soma Suzuki looks like he stole Brad Little's Sexy Hand Thing from PotO and used it in Javert's Suicide. It's really disturbing. |
