Lea Salonga's final performance, please post review.

Hello to all!

I am soooooo disappointed not to have seen Lea's performance as Fantine. I'm kicking myself in the head. For those who will see her final performance today, please post your review. I'll surely be able to see Judy Kuhn in November.

Thanks, guys.

I saw her second-to-last performance and Lea was as she ever was. I'm going to miss her.

I will not miss getting trampled by mobs of rude, camera-toting fans at the stage door.

Thanks

Thanks, Orestes.

Was the theater packed?

Slightly off topic, but are you going to be there for JOJ's first night OF?
Orestes Fasting

Nope. I'll be there for his second though. Laughing At the moment I can only catch Wednesday and Saturday shows, which means second and second-to-last performances whenever there's a cast change.

What an emotional finale for Lea's comeback on Broadway!

The afternoon show was magical, emotional and powerful!! Lea Salonga was superb, sang flawlessly, truly gave it all. It was definitely electrifying and emotional. Even Ivan Rutherford was in tears. The entire cast was brilliant. My first time to see Harada, Von Essen and Hunt. Ann was hilarious. Max Von Essen was a superb Enjolras. Ivan Rutherford and Robert Hunt were amazing. Hunt's Javert was definitely better than Lewis'. Even Gary Beach was so energetic and added so many ad libs, he made me laugh so hard. Wow, I've never seen an entire cast so on since TAC and the closing of Miss Saigon in 2000. The theater was packed to the rafters. Her fans and supporters were amazing. I've never seen the backstage door packed with so many people, the rest of the cast came out from the second floor deck to take pictures of the huge crowd. Pandemonium broke in when Lea came out. Even the cops came in to control them. It was like being at the red carpet for a music award. What an amazing run! Ms. Salonga, we thank you for entertaining us and for coming back to Broadway for a brilliant performance. Please be back soon. Applause

PS. Ann Harada told me that she will be back for a week only. Something about Galloway's schedule.

so cool!!! any photos?

The cops had to come in? Poor Lea. I mean, she must appreciate all the support but that sounds crazy and stressful. Glad to hear her last show went so well though! She was a wonderful Fantine.

^Did you watch it on West End or Broadway?

If it was on Broadway, then yeah it could have been Lea. If on West End, then it wasn't.

I wish I had gotten to see her final performance, but alas... I could only go the night before. Lea was absolutely amazing.. I'd actually seen her as Fantine twice before in the summer, and the first time, I was honestly a little disappointed... I think it was just because it had been a while since she'd been in a production that required her to sing like that every night, and her voice wasn't as powerful as I remember it being in Miss Saigon. However, Saturday night... her performance was heart wrenching. It was the only time I'd gotten tears in my eyes while watching Les Miz. I'm so upset that she's gone!! At least Megan McGinnis is still there.... Very Happy

Fantine

There are some pictures there that I've never seen before. Thanks!

I saw Lea as Fantine on October 6th and she was the BEST! Soooooo much better than Nikki Rene Daniels who I saw in May. She will be missed in Les Miserables.
