Les Mis at the Ogunquit Playhouse

I'm not sure if I should be posting this here (haven't been on these boards in quite a while). Currently, I am working backstage on a marvelous production of Les Miserables in Ogunquit, Maine.

We just opened last week (previews began the 10th, with an official opening on the 11th).

The cast is absolutely stellar, and we got the set from Walnut Street (which is pretty neat).

I WISH I WAS THERE!!!! Evil or Very Mad Evil or Very Mad Evil or Very Mad Evil or Very Mad

Sorry, I jut have to rant. All these regional productions this year, and I haven't seen one!

Stupid college, stupid dad who wouldn't let me take the summer off and won't let me take less than three classes (though he's right, I need to get those credits), stupid distance, stupid expensiveness, stupid everything that keeps me from seeing all these productions! Evil or Very Mad Crying or Very sad Evil or Very Mad
The Very Angry Woman

I think it's funny how the website links to A BOOTLEG VIDEO OF IVAN RUTHERFORD.

No sarcasm. It really is funny to me.

I know, right?

It struck me as funny, too.

I'm stuck at Santa Monica College. I'm taking three courses and can't get away.

Honestly, I wish SMC would do a production of "Les Mis." It has a great theatre department (it's where James Dean and Dustin Hoffman got their start, among others), and earlier this year they did "Miss Saigon." I'm sure they could do a decent "Les Mis," if the rights were available (Are they?).

Just as long as it's not directed by Adrian Harrop (I loved you as a professor, Dr. Harrop, but your "Aida" sucked).

Andrea McArdle is in it!!

I wish Reprise! would do Les Mis. That would make my life.
The Pirate King

I love how Ivan Rutherford is the default Valjean for the regional productions.

I suppose that there are many, many worse perfomers to have as a default Valjean though.

Bumping this up because I came across some clips from the show.

(For the record, I didn't record any of these).

One Day More
A Little Fall of Rain

On My Own

Sadly, no clips of "I Dreamed A Dream" or "Lovely Ladies"/"Fantine's Arrest".

Do you know if he's done anything else in the theatre department? I didn't get around to seeing "Saigon," but I did see the new musical "Camila" before it. The male lead in that was incredible- I so hoped that he'd be Chris in "Saigon" too, but I never got to find out if he was or not.
