maybe you've already noticed it, but I am considering to go.. Does anyone know anything about the singers? I'm quite new at Les Mis... Wink

These concerts are produced by Earl Carpenter (who has just finished his run as The Phantom at Her Majesty's, and is playing Javert in this concert). Les Miserables has been performed here before and was incredibly successful, most of the cast have been in Les Mis at some point or another, Rebbecca Thornhill is married to Carpenter so naturally she always gets a leading role, and Rosie Ashe was the original London Carlotta in Phantom.

According to the official site, the cast is:
Jean Valjean- David Shannon
Javert- Earl Carpenter
Fantine- Rebecca Thornhill
Thnardier- Barry James
Madame Thnardier- Rosie Ashe
Marius- Maurice Clarke
Enjolras- Chris Holland
Cosette- Jaime Farr
Eponine- Sophia Ragavelas
Aimee

I'd love to go but sadly, I am in Gondoliers that week. Sad

Would you believe that I already have my ticket? Smile

From what I have heard, Sophia is a stunning Eponine. I have heard nothing but praises... and from the recordings I have heard of her, I am very impressed with her vocals in the role.

Well, that must simply be because of her name... Razz no, only joking.. Wink

By the way, I'm so freaked now; as the very freshmen at Les Mis that I am, I thought it was a real pity that the Les Mis in London was finished now in October when JOJ leaves because I really wanted to see it a second time. But then I found out it lasts for a year! Very Happy hehe, so now it's proved that I am totally new here... But I guess I'll manage Wink

Excuse me for being totally ignorant and perhaps freaking out about nothing- but has London Les Mis posted a closing date?
I haven't seen anything about this anywhere else.

Nah I think soph-les-mis doesn't have her facts right. Or it could be a language boundary.

Oh good. I was going to be really upset if there was any truth in that. Thanks for clearing it up Very Happy
lesmisboy

Nope. It's taking bookings into next year and there are no plans to close it. Thankfully. Very Happy Very Happy

Even if there were, Drew Sarich's contract is for six months, so definitely not closing in October!

I'm sorry to have caused some smaller shocks around, but as I said, I'm quite new in here... Embarassed =)

And the closing in October was only my thinking, as I didn't know how long London shows are usually running. You know that better than me! Wink

However, I visited this website,
http://londontheatredirect.com/bookingprocess/selectdate.asp

where you order tickets you can choose a date, and the dates go forward until September 2008, so wouldn't that mean that it runs for a year? Confused

That doesn't mean it's planning to close next September, it just means that you can't book a date further ahead than September. I doubt it will close then, since the cast changes are around June and it's unlikely to hire a new cast just for 3 months.
