Les Mis: In the Round in Sacramento!

Sorry if this has been brought up already, I was reminded to start a topic by Orestes_Fasting's topic about regionaly things and whatnot. Well anyway, I'm going to see it in the beginning of July, and this is the first time it's ever been done on a round stage! Shocked What are your opinions on this? Anyone else going? Very Happy

I got my tickets over a month ago.

I've seen Jesus Christ Superstar, Beauty & the Beast, and The Scarlet Pimpernel at SMC. They were all pretty good.

I'm most curious to see how they decide to do a barricade in the round.

Yay, Someone else is going! I got my tickets a while back too, actually we got season tickets, but I bet its already sold out!

My parents saw the Scarlet Pimpernel too and loved it, my mom actually got me hooked on it after that. I haven't been there very often, but I saw A Funny thing...Forum, and it was hilarious! They are usally very high quality performances, I'm sure this one will be excellent.

The barricade is something I was wondering about too. How do you do one that everyone can see both sides of? And One Day more? The stage isn't that big!

They'll be using the aisles a lot, I'm sure.

That's cool how Andrea Rivette is going to be Fantine - I like her Very Happy

That sounds really interesting! I was actually really recently wondering how it could work in the round. I don't know how they're going to have the battles at the barricade, it probably depends on the theatre. The problems I can think of are not only the audience's view, but also how they're going to stage the battle. It would be interesting to see a production which actually shows the soldiers battling on the other side... And maybe to get the barricade onstage they could actually show the cast building it...
Sorry, these are just my thoughts. It's a shame though; now I won't get to be the one to stage the first production of Les Mis in the round. Sad Wink
