Les Mis the Movie?

Do you guys think it will ever get made into a film or will it be stuck in production hell for all eternity? And what would do you think would be best for casting: Stage cast members, Hollywod actors, or open cast calls for some roles?

I'd like to see it made and I think it will, it's too popular for producers to pass it up, like Phantom. It took a while, and the result wasn't great, but Phantom finally became a movie and made a shitload of money. As for casting, I'd like to see some old cast members return to their roles, mainly Colm Wilkinson, although he's too old for young JVJ, and Philip Quast (insert fangirl giggling) as Javert. I'd also be willing to see JOJ play JVJ (insert more fangirl giggling).

What do you guys think?

Wait, has this been discussed before? I really don't know...

Colm has said he's done with the role. It'd have to be JOJ.

As for Javert...Quast would probably still be a possibility.

I'd say JOJ is the "only" JVJ, but then I'd be lying. See, in terms of stage actors, JOJ is the best. However, I've heard that stage acting and film acting are two totally different bananas, and sometimes a brilliant stage performer doesn't translate well to film.

Don't kill me but I want Nicole Kidman to play Fantine

True. I wish JOJ would've been in Phantom instead of Butler, too. -_-
