Lyrics question

Hi,
Sorry for another new topic, but I actually need some help here.
At the beginning of "I Saw Him Once," Cosette sings:
How strange,
How curious, how secret and how vain;
This change.
Till now I'd seen myself as rather plain.
What is happening to you, Cosette?
Why, you don't even know his name.
---- (what is this line?) ---
and nothing feels the same.

I googled it and I couldn't come up with anything ... the one website with the full lyrics to "I Saw Him Once" on it had the line blank, because webmaster/mistress didn't know what it was, either.

Anybody?
Orestes Fasting

The lyrics probably come from a bootleg of the original Barbican production, which, being from 1985, is pretty inaudible in places. That's why there's a line missing--nobody can make it out. It's also why you can't find the lyrics anywhere else--that recording isn't supposed to exist.

There are other lyrics to this song as well, right?

Yup, after the intro I typed out, it goes into:

I saw him once,
Then he was gone.
We were two dreamers at night
Who meet as in a trance, then part again,
Two phantoms in the shadow of the moon,
Can people really fall in love so soon?

He walked alone,
He seemed alone like me.
Could he have known
That moment was my destiny?
I had to run away, and it was like a dream.
I saw him once,
The dream was true.
I saw him once,
And once will do.

All told, it's about 2 minutes long ... a little smidgeon of a song, but I still really like it. I just need to figure out what that missing line in the "prelude" is ...

<3 I Saw Him Once.

I always thought that it was "How suddenly he was there...", but I'm probably just hearing things. Very Happy

ah yes, I meant those Smile Thank you!
I sang this once... I should redo it.
