My Chemical Showtune- Emo is Less Miserable

Yesterday at practice, while rehearsing the song "One Day More," a few cast members and I realized that "Welcome To The Black Parade" by My Chemical Romance is a near-perfect imitation of "One Day More." The simple piano riff at the beginning harmonizes perfectly with the opening instrumental of the song (I played it on piano with the recording, so I know). The vocals in the "choral section" match up with the final half of the One Day More montage. If you listen closely, you can hear some of the band's vocalists singing the Thenardier vocals. After hearing this, I amused the Mme. and several others by singing my part (Thenardier) up an octave, in a Gerard Way emo voice- and oddly enough, the director liked it for the character. He said that if it wasn't too rough on my vocal chords, I should take that style and try applying it to the entire character.

Don't believe me? Listen to the two songs back to back- you'll see...
