Norway les Mis

I've started watching clips of this filmed show in Youtube. It was done in an otdoor theatre in Bomlo so that was kinda neat. I'm actually enjoying it quite a bit... I had to get used to a very bear-like JVJ, but his voice is great, and Javert is...interesting, the verdict is still out on him, but I do like the use of a wire in javert's suicide, although you can clearly see the rope sticking out of his pants.

There's Norweigian Fantine I'm perticularly fond of...not the one from the concert, but someone filmed her in Oslo I believe...I only saw her death scene but it was wonderful...the singing, the acting, the staging...she actually died in JVJ's arms, being carried, as opposed to dying in her bed with JVJ holding her up.

I have to hunt the clip down again to get her name, but she's up there with Ruthie Henshall in the TAC.
edit: http://ca.youtube.com/watch?v=6DzfXr2cUMI Liv Unni is Fantine 2007

And then there are clips from the 1988 production...awsome.
Anyway, is there anyone else who likes the Norweigian productions, or any actors from the show, at least?

I can't belive I'm actually starting to listen to foreign tracks now XD...I'm turning intoa Les Mis nerd.

Those damn Norweigians are freakin' talented! Razz.

That Come To Me is really good, I really like that Fantine. But I can't quite figure out what would make Valjean keep Fantine in his arms instead of laying her back on her bed.

Interesting thought...anyway...

I just found her IDAD...really good...It's also interesting that Fantine here is a dark brunette, almost black.

Unni, Henshall, and Nurlaila Karim from the Dutch Cast (she actually sounds like she's dying when she sings..at least here she does : http://ca.youtube.com/watch?v=gX1QFQpzzx4&feature=related - Her last note is heart-wrenching) are my current favs.

Actually, you couldn't see it if you were in the audience! I had never seen the show when I saw it at Bmlo, so I thought he fell!

Thank you, I'm from Norway, and joining the Norwegian premiere of Miss Saigon at the same theatre. If you can, come and see us! Ticket's will be out from february at http://www.bml.no

I adore Sigurd Sele, the guy who is playing valJean in Bergen now, he played Enjolras in the BML production. He is the most talented actor I have EVER seen perform!

He will play John in Miss Saigon.

You're Welcome! Unfortunately, I live all the way in Canada so I have to rely on Youtube to see you guys. Crying or Very sad

someone filmed her in Oslo I believe..

Lillestrm (12 minutes by train from Oslo). Her hair color surprised me as well (see the video's first comment), but she was amazing.

Please, please, please tell me BML cast an Asian as Kim ..! If you can divulge any more cast info (I expect it'll be a while before they update their site), I'd love to know who's playing Ellen.

PS. My avatar is from the 2003 Bmlo production.

The only thing I know for sure is that Knut Gjelle Angell, Nina Sele, Sigurd Sele will be in the production, I don't know if Nina and Knut are cast as roles or in the ensemble. The only lead I have got confirmed is Sigurd Sele as John.
Yakko

I have to say though that Marius and Cosette duet in One day More is like perfect!

Cool!

lol...I've been going a tad nuts with foreign productions...I've also fallen for the Isreali cast from...'88 I think it was?...the one with Dudu Fischer as JVJ (there's a clip of him on Youtube doing ODM in English with the London Cast during a Variety performance, and someone else has pretty much the entire show up in Hebrew, from the original Tel Aviv production)...he singing wasn't "strong" in terms of JOJ or Wilkinson, but it was still very good, and his BHH was by far the most emotional I've seen...really tugged at the heart.
Anywho, as long as were talking foreign casts...does anyone else have a favourite foreign cast or actor from Les Mis?

To me Colm Wilkinson is the best foreign Valjean, but if you mean non-english it has to be Sigurd Sele, who is the greatest actor I've seen play that part.
