Lazarus (Adam G)

By the way, does anyone have "Dogs Eat Dogs" and "Jean Valjean VS Javert" (the scene down in the Sewers) from the Complete Symphonic recording?
Pshhness

Didn't you just BUY that recording?...

Edited for spelling mistakes.

BUY
Lazarus (Adam G)

Yes, I did, from E-bay.

But it doesn't look like a real CD set; the jewl case is cheap and the CD looks like a CD-R that you can get at Wal Mart for fifty cents. Rolling Eyes

They advertised it as if it was the actual CD set.

Then you should report them.
Lazarus (Adam G)

Do I report it to E-bay?
Timmy_Wishes he was Quast

most definatly!! There are some bastards out there who rip people off. If you don't mind me asking how much did they rip you off for?! Plus you saying something might expose a large amount of fraud.
Lazarus (Adam G)

It was about the same as the normal CD; around 36 dollars. I'll report this guy to E-bay.

I'll stick to Amazon, from now on.

I did that, when I was fairly new and naive about ebay. I bought the X Files series 1 - 9 on DVD and when they arrived they were counterfeit. I got back the price of the discs but he refused to refund me the postage (about US$50 from Hong Kong to UK). I sent emails to the FBI (Fox being based in the USA so FBI would be in charge of their copyright) FACT (UK based copyright organisation) and to ebay.

He was no longer on ebay after a week or so...

I'd never buy stuff from Hong Kong any more. I rarely buy DVDs on ebay unless they show me a cover that's a home taken photograph as opposed to a 'stock photo'.

I'd like to request the Well Scene from that old recording originally posted by Quique, please. Very Happy And if that original chase music bit is on there, I'd like that too. Thanks!

Could someone upload that old recording plese? I've been wanting to hear it for ages. Also, could someone please upload "A Heart Full of Love" and "Lovely Ladies" with vocals from the les mis keraoke cd? That would be great.

Specifying which old recording you mean might help.

She/he meant the same one I do Razz , sorry if I didn't specify. Embarassed I want those particular songs (mentioned in my first post), from that old 1980something cassette recording of the original London cast. The whole thing was posted by Quique several times in another thread.

I know it is very unlikely that anyone would have a recording of an understudy, but does anyone have one of Amanda Jane Callaghan as Eponine? I didn't think she was quite as good as Shonagh, but seeing as I'm likely never to hear her again...
Or I would appreciate anything from the current London cast (while they are still the current cast Crying or Very sad )

Not neccessarily. It varies from actor to actor. Some rarely call out; others are a little more...susceptible.

I have two versions of Un Dia Mas, the one from the Spanish recording, and this. Can anyone tell me where the second recording is from?

Lazarus (Adam G)

I just got to songs from an unidentified recording. Does anyone know which recording has Dave Willets and Claire Moore singing on it? I can't identify the album name.

Dave Willets really shouldn't be playing Javert...he's a tenor, and Javert is a bass-baritone roll. If anyone wants to hear it, I'll upload it.

Does anyone have Dave Willets singing Javert's Sucide?
Pshhness

Lazaurus, what you have is the UK Highlights Studio recording by David Willetts and Claire Moore. The whole recording is the two of them singing the highlights of the show.

Please do!

Willets never played Javert onstage, right? Only Valjean, if I remember correctly. Does anyone have any clips of his Valjean?

Does anyone have Carlos Marn's Empty Chairs at Empty Tables, A Heart Full of Love, etc.?

I love Carlos Marn.

The inappropriateness is pretty much equal opportunity, considering all the roles Claire Moore is singing on that thing.

Are there any recordings with Robert Hunt as Javert? I've only been able to find poor quality bootleg clips.

There are better quality bootleg clips out there, if that's what you mean. Robert Hunt didn't actually join any cast of Les Miz until a few years after the last legal English language recording was released -- the TAC.

Orestes Fasting

Sorry I can't fulfil requests at the moment, but I'm about to pack up for vacation as well and I'm already uploading something else. But I've put up the Paris revival recording for another person, and I think it's a crying shame that such a good recording is so rare. So, here it is, the whole thing. I'm fairly sure the links won't expire, either.

Disc One
Disc Two

If you want to be a good citizen and buy it, and you speak French or German, it's available on Amazon.fr and SoundOfMusic.de. But as far as I know there are no English or American sites that sell it.

If putting up a complete recording oversteps the boundaries of the clip-sharing allowed by this forum, I'm very sorry and I'll edit it the minute I get back from vacation on Wednesday.
Orestes Fasting

Also, I lied. I do have time to upload a few requests before I go.

He was the original Valjean in the first billingual company. Stphanie Martin and Louise Pitre were also in the show. The same cast performed in both English and French at different performances (I'm not sure if it was split 4 and 4 in a week).

Gorgeous voice though.

And that Sinfonia actually sounds good here.
Quique

Ack! Mad

I know, I've been so very bad. Crying or Very sad

Go ahead...lynch me, lol. I deserve it.

But before you do, here is the rest of the Original London Cast Live recording that I began sharing and never finished. The first file is the rest of disc 2. I believe I left off at "On My Own." The first link has mp3 files from "At the Barricade" to "Bring Him Home."

Les Misrables - OLC Live [Act 2 - Disc 2]
(30 Mb.)

And this link includes the rest of the show. The sound quality isn't the best but it gets better towards the end.

This finale remains one of the most incredible I've ever heard. Colm is so emotional and so are the rest of the cast. Even Patti Lupone, lol! They all sound as if they're fighting back tears. I find it hard to fight back my tears each time I listen to this version. Beautiful.

Les Misrables - OLC Live [Act 2 - Disc 3]
(55 Mb.)

Let me know what you all think! =)

Oh, no. Nevermind...I'll be dead by then. Confused

*Slips noose over head*
MrMarius

Fantastic! Thank you sooo much- that was a very emotional recording for me too. Have you been to see the new cast yet Quique? Am interested in hearing your opinion of them! Very Happy
Quique

Here are the other files I've already shared, in case anyone missed them.

Some of the mp3 files might not work cause I made the mistake of naming some of them with question marks; characters that aren't supported. Simply rename the song titles that carry them, deleting the question marks. Some may have a _ in place of a question mark. Delete any characters that aren't letters. Don't forget to type the ".mp3" tag after the file name!! They should then play with no problems.

Les Misrables - OLC Live [Act 1 - Disc 1]
(82 Mb.)

Les Misrables - OLC Live [Disc 2 - Part 1] (28 Mb.)

Les Misrables - OLC Live [Disc 2 - Part 2] (17 Mb.)

Again, the sound quality is really very crappy but what more can you expect from a recording this old? Wink

Let me know if there are any problems.

And I'm no fangirl, either. :S

But I friggen love the song's orchestration above all and enjoy listening to different versions. I practically have every version out there except these from the following recordings...

  • 2003 Prague Concert Recording
  • Karlstad, Sweden Cast Highlights
  • 2003 "Blue" Japanese Cast Recording
  • 2003 "Purple" Japanese Cast Recording
  • 2003 "Green" Japanese Cast Recording

I'd marry you for any of these ultra "On My Own" rarities. Twisted Evil

You'd make my quarter century if you have and share the first two.

  • From the 1st U.S. national tour - Susan Tilson
  • From the Mexican production - Angelica Vale
  • From the Polish Soundboard Recording
  • From the Brazilian production - Ester Elias (I've seen the vid on YouTube, so it's not really rare, but I know of very few who have the Soundboard recording).
  • From the 3rd U.S. national tour - Jennifer Rae Beck & Angela Pupello
  • From the Broadway production - Debbie Gibson
  • Any Canadian Eponine.
  • Any Australian Eponine.
  • Any Hungarian Eponine with the exception of Nagy Aniko.
  • Original Oslo production Eponine.

I already have the following versions of "On My Own"...

  • All "legit" versions not listed above.
  • Korean Cast Recording
  • From the Broadway production - Natalie Toro; Kelli Rabke; Christeena Michelle-Riggs; Sarah Uriarte Berry (1994 & 1997); Shanice; Diana Kaarina.
  • From the London production - Frances Ruffelle (1985); Linzi Hately; Joanna Ampil; Sophia Ragavelas; Shonagh Daly.
  • From the 2nd U.S. national tour - Michelle Nicastro
  • From the 3rd U.S. national tour - Pauline Frommer; Christeena Michelle-Riggs; Andrea McArdle.
  • Argentine production - Pili Artaza
  • Mexican production - Natalia Sosa
  • Berlin production - Vera Bolten

Can't get enough!! Twisted Evil
Quique

Here's the beginning of act two, all the way to the end of "On My Own," from the Mexican production.

This production enjoyed a long run at Mexico City's Centro Cultural TelMEX - Teatro 1, running nearly two years from 14 November, 2002, to 30 August, 2004.

Sola Estoy - Natalia Sosa (8.7 Mb.)

    Enjolras - Leonardo Luiz
    Javert - Luis Rene Aguirre
Marius - Rodrigo de la Rosa
    Eponine - Natalia Sosa
    Jean Valjean - Carlos Vittori

I didn't like Natalia's Eponine too much at first. I felt she was too tom-boyish. She has since grown on me and I now think she's wonderful. I only wish she would've done the "pretending" the way I prefer it be sung. Oh well, can't please everyone, I guess, hehe.

The Polish soundboard recording was from a production in Gdynia, and was taken sometime in 2000 or 2001. I have a cast list if you want it.

Robert Marien singing Bring Him Home in English:

He sounds very much like he does on the PRC here--not so for the rest of the boot. I didn't fully believe it was him until sometime in the middle of the second act.

So if you could just post..... I don't have much, but I will do anything!
