I love that Look Down one! So rare for a pic of that scene to be included in the brochures. Sorry for the crappy quality though, but the brochure was kinda worn and had water damage. d'oh!
The Very Angry Woman

Nice; I don't think I've seen that picture of Alice Ripley before.

(A bit too much "Dust & Scratches" filter, I think!)

Yikes! Yes, I confess I overused that filter. Embarassed Damn, you're good, but then again, I shouldn't expect any less from a graphic designer. XD

I'll try scanning it again later.
The Very Angry Woman

Haha. I wasn't actually sure if it was your doing or someone at Dewynters getting overzealous with a relatively brand-new Adobe product.

Younger fans probably haven't heard of him, but he's done the role of Javert God-knows how many times and in how many cities.

He played the role in the final Broadway performance, as well.
curlyhairedsoprano91

Ahahaha I never would have guessed.

I have heard of him, but because he was the Foreman on the TAC. I probably wouldn't have recognized him without the ridiculous facial hair.

Hehe, he was featured as "Factory Foreman/Combeferre" at the time.

A couple more from London, 1991:

Thenardier - Martyn Ellis
Mme. Thenardier - Sue Kelvin
Valjean - Stig Rossen
Young Cosette - Either Gemma Golding, Lucy Kent, or Wendy Newell :S

Quique

Royal Alexandra Theatre, Toronto - Original Canadian Production, 1989.

lesmisloony

What's sad is... the first thing I thought when I saw that picture was, "Wonder who got to take home the ginormous posters on the side of that building?"

And then I noticed the little flag-banner thing of the streetlight, and I was like, "Well, if I couldn't have the giant poster, I'd TOTALLY settle for that one..."
Quique

Ohhh, I'd kill for one of those gigantic posters. I ripped a poster-sized Les Mis ad from a newspaper stand once, lol.

Theater des Westens, Berlin - 2003.

lesmisloony

See, you just know SOMEONE has some of those flags... and they'll turn up on eBay for, like, over a hundred bucks... and I'll stare at the picture for ages and wish I could have one...

Like that LM beach towel that keeps surfacing. It's always going for about eighty dollars, but darned if I don't want that thing... I mean, I don't *need* it, of course, but but but it's ~Les Mis~! on a beach towel! See?
Quique

I haven't checked ebay in like forever, and I think it's because I know I'll go purchase crazy, lol.

I took the following pics back in the day...

Pantages Theatre, Los Angeles - 3rd national tour, 1992.

Terrace Theatre, Long Beach, CA - 3rd national tour, 1995.

At the loading dock. Amazing that the whole show is contained in those 8 trucks.

Watching the crew load the set in.
Quique

Ostre Gasvaerk Theater, Denmark - Original production, 1992.

The Very Angry Woman

Found an old brochure I got on eBay. The individual pictures don't have captions, but there is the page with the cast list.

December, 1988 - 1NT (aka "Let's find future Tony nominees.")

The Very Angry Woman

Toronto cast, March 1989

The Very Angry Woman

3NT July 1993.

AKA TVAW loses her mind because let's just say Ken Krugman looks rather different in Jersey Boys.

Quique

Amazing pics! Especially the 1st NT ones.

You take really good care of your souvenir brochures. Mine are all jacked-up, lol. Beautiful, clean scans, too.

Is that Craig Schulman there in the background of the 1st NT "Attack On Rue Plumet" pic?

Donna Kane's Fantine is so pretty. Best pics of her I've seen yet. In fact, the only ones I've seen of her before were on the official website back during the old Le Cafe days, and those were of awful quality. Nice to finally see great pics of her Fantine.

Aren't the above pics from the Broadway production? I can tell by the look of the barricade and I don't think Evalyn Baron, Lacey Chabert, Jennifer Lee Andrews, and Drew Eshelman ever did the 3rd NT.

Gorgeous pics. Thanks so much for sharing them. =)

I'm pretty sure she was only 19, though her voice sounds incredibly mature. She is also one of my fave foreign Fantines. Gorgeous voice and very passionate.

I'm also pretty sure her wig was red. I have another pic of her posing with the cast in costume and her hair is unmistakably red. I'll post it when I find it.

Maybe she was 19 then. It's funny! She seemed such a grown-up woman to me when I met her... ( but it probably was because I was too young).
About her hair, though, I am absolutely certain it was blond, since I went to see the show 5 times Smile It's just the weird lighting.
If I remember right I should have a rather sexy pic of her while she was getting dressed backstage. I just need some days to go through all the stuff I left at my parents. I'm pretty sure I did not throw anything away.

Hmmm, maybe they started out using a red wig and then changed it to a blonde one? Who knows?

But seriously. These pictures are so awesome. If my mum wouldn't kill me, (which she would), I would totally print them all and wallpaper my room.

Except mebbe for the Javert/Parnasse one. Such is the realm of the internet ...
Fantine

Lol, I had once printed out several (well, a lot) images from a particular fandom (Final Fantasy VIII) and had them hanging on my wall... Let's just say that it's better for me to be living on my own now because I used to drive my parents crazy with all my obsessions! At some point they seriously suggested that I should go see a shrink.

Hahaha ... yes ... my walls are full of so much LM stuff ... my mum gets freaked out sometimes, I think.
lesmisloony

LM stuff I can see from here (sitting in the corner under my lofted bed, facing the back wall):

LM clock
LM mousepad
the background and screensaver on my computer
three DVD's (one of the musical, the Anthony Perkins one, and the Jean Gabin)
a copy of the Book in English (Norman Denny)
part II of the Book in French
a defaced poster for the '98 movie that I found at work and destroyed with Sharpies
