SE tonight! In Manchester!

Been waiting for this one for ages!! My friend Johnny plays Javert, and his cousin plays Valjean. It should be excellent, and I can't wait!

Have a good time, I would like to see an SE one day!
Aimee

When you get time we'd love to see a review. Smile

Thanks.

Ok, I now have the time to write a review!
It won't be a very good one, as I donm't really have the experience as other reviewers have, but I'll try!

Also - I'm not going to put the real names of the characters as they're only children whom may not wish to be named

Jean Valjean
What can I say? The song Bring Him Home has never particularly stood out to me, but on the night this was the song that gave me goosebumps. He was 15 years old, and absolutely AMAZING. He got the acting just right, didn't over do anything, and he made the songs accent entirely his own. I mean he didn't fake an American one. I'd say, 10/10

Javert
Hard to really comment on, as this was the person I went to see. He was all I wanted and more. He was exactly a Javert, and got the facial actions just right. He had the right amount of enery, and I LOVE the way he did his suicide, and how he sang stars! (It was up some stairs, which had a backcloth that must have had fairy lights or something attached to it, it look spectaular.

Fantine
Oooh - she had very BIG blonde hair. Thats what I noticed predominately. I'm not used to blonde Fantines, but she was very good, though her voice was a bit soft at times. Good conviction, though.

Marius
OOoh, Marius's (Marii?) are always the most sexy characters, and this guys acting was so earnest, as though he wanted us to believe everything he said. It was quite believeable aswell. A job well done Smile

Cosette
I know it sounds terrible, but I can't remember too much about how this character was played, except that she was EXTREMELY operetta!

Eponine
I'm not saying this just because I admire the character, but the girl who played her was astounding. She had blonde hair! (Bit strange aswell) But honestly, she was brilliant. She got frustrated, and moved, and oh, I can't even describe. During On My Own, a song in which you tend to become more aware of thje audience, and the fire exit signs, I didn't - I was totally engrossed. 10/10

Mme T and Thenardier
Well, I usually prefer the comedy act between these two, and contrasting characeters, such as a fat Mme, and a thin Thenardier. Nevertheless, they both sang very well, and got th chemistry very well!

Enjolras
A bit... feminine... Wasn't really a strong supporting role, just an average voice and actor. Nothing more to say...

Gavroche
Unbelievably cute, especially with the dirt smudges across his face. When he was shot, it was played extremely well.

Overall, a brilliant production that I wanted to come back and see the night after!

PS: Rather embarrassed about calling the song "God On High". It's because I was singing the lyrics on my head, and I typed what I was thinking!

Apologies!

Do you mean "Bring Him Home"? (Also commonly misheard as "God, I'm high".

That IS weird. I've never seen a blonde Eponine... then again, I haven't seen that many Eponines. Was she wearing a wig to MAKE her blonde, or was she naturally blonde?

People like Michael Ball and Felix Martin and Tim Howar are sexy? I don't want to think about this.

It doesn't happen often, but there have been several.

Add to the above, understudies from the US tour: Marissa McGowan and Sarah Ramsey-Duke.

Before Richard Jay-Alexander was fired (and took with him his "no blondes" rule), there were, well, no blondes in Les Miz.

And just wait till I appear on as Eponine Wink
Sairin

Shonagh Daly, I think, was blonde on the first night and then moved to brown. Nobody's corroborated this yet, so I could have been hallucinating...

Oh, she was naturally blonde, but it wasn't in your face platinum blonde, it was more sugary!

Mmm yes indeedy... *chokes*.
Aimee

He's nice. Ok so yeah I'm 40 so perhaps he's just 'my age' [ish] but judging on looks alone I think he's fine

I think the best picture of him is the one of the left hand side in 1996... However, I must say I'm NOT a fan of the boofy 1984 hair!!!
Aimee

LOL Everyone had hair like that then. Smile
