Soho Sessions 2

The next Blueironco gig has been annouced (for those who don't know, the Blueironco is run by David Thaxton and Leigh "from Sound")

Here's the info....

The BlueIron Co. proudly present The Soho Sessions.

A late-night showcase of unsigned, new music featuring the best of the West End and further afield.

April's session comes firstly in the form of the internationally reknowned Drew Sarich (Les Miserables, Rudolph, Hair) performing tracks from both his own catalogue and his critically acclaimed band, International Victim, live and unplugged.

The second half of the session is the debut outing for the soon-to-be-signed Tria, the new music project from Tom Parsons who himself has carved a successful career in the West End.

Special guests and an after show DJ set from sohowednesday's Big Mike. Sounds rather amazing to me.

Tickets:

No word on if Thaxton is playing, but I am wondering if he is one of the "special guests" playing with Drew Sarich - I would imagine so ????

with Sarich there, I'd very much assume that, yes.
Oh that's on a Monday... But OH. It's before term starts again, too. That's good. The last one was lovely.

Oh.... I should be in England then.... but if it starts that late I can't get back to Oxford that night... hmm...

Thanks for posting about this!

I'm so there. Can't wait!!

It's going to be 12 hours after I fly in from Australia and I will have been back at work all day, too. This can only help my jetlag or totally destroy me... either way, I'll be there!

I was getting very excited about this - I'll be in Essex then.
But then I realised this is the night I'm taking my roommate to see Les Mis. Does this mean David (and others?) will be off?! Please no...
riverdawn

It's at 10:30 PM and about 2 minutes from the Queen's, so if I understand the idea correctly, it's going to be a post Les-Mis kind of thing which may mean that David won't be off that night.

But I could be wrong.

I'm pretty sure the reason for why the doors open at 10.30 (the gig might start around 11. Or 11.30. Or, you know, midnight.) is that all the Les Mis people will only be able to be there that late.
Of course it's not directly linked to Les Mis. It's not a musical theatre kind of gig at all, in case anyone's getting that wrong. And it's not some kind of cabaret, unlike, say, Jon Robyns's or Nancy's things.
riverdawn

Yes, of course it's not Les Mis related or musical theater related. I just meant "post les mis" in that sense that it's timed in order to happen after Les Mis ends.
KatyRoseLand

The last one was on a Sunday and it was really late starting, so I'd assume that 10.30 is a very approximate time.

Oh, it wasn't directed at anyone in particular. Just, you know, not that anyone thinks it is, as then they might be a bit surprised to find it will be completely different from the polished cabaret/musical theatre/vaudeville thing. Especially if it's not your kind of music.

Hmm... I wonder if I'll be able to drag my friend along. Trouble is, I assume it would be too late to go back by train.
So I'll probably have to miss it Sad

Hah. Much amusement over that. The whole thing, really.
