TKTS for Saturday matinee

I was thinking of seeing the matinee tomorrow and using TKTS to get a cheap ticket. I've never used TKTS before, so I was wondering whether they offered rear mezz seats and whether it's difficult to get Les Mis tickets from TKTS?

Ah--I'm sorry. I have another question, if anyone cares. Do any of the main actors regularly take off the Sat matinee?

Only Valjean and Javert have it in their contract to do 7 out of 8 shows. They may, they may not take off a show. And they may or may not take off a Saturday matinee.

In the US, Les Miz does not regularly have alternates (in case you had a Christine Daae-style arrangement in mind), so there's no way to know for certain when someone is out, unless it's already been mentioned that they'll be on leave for whatever reason.

Hello

I think you can get reasonably good seats for "Les Miserables" from TKTS. You can always check on your way to TKTS the cast for the day. The theatre is just few minutes away.

The best site for the latest offers and seat recommendation is the theatre monkey. http://www.theatremonkey.com/

See, you should be able to get balcony seating. It is probably going to cost $40 or 50 dollars. I say $50. Now see, this the strange thing, my friend went to see it the second week it opened, at the Saturday evening performance. Valjean was an understudy. He was so upset he didn't get to see Alex. So I don't know, I doubt they take off Saturday night. Maybe they can choose which performance they will take off for the week, by putting it in for advance. You have a good chance of seeing the whole cast in the matinee today. I went to the Wed. matinee, and I saw everyone.

OOOPS.....i assumed you are in London.

Lol, yeh I checked the link too, and I was like "These are all West End shows"

There are usually $36.50 box seats available on the day of the show-you miss some set pieces, but DRV/whoever is playing Fantine goes right into your box (box A, that is) and the beggars sometimes ask you for money-so in my opinion, completely worth it.

That's not strange. I'm pretty sure that was around the time Alex got very sick overnight, but he bounced back quickly.

FWIW, I'd seen Les Miz over a dozen times before I saw a full cast.

I didn't know tickets were currently available from the TKTS board. I know when I checked at the actual board yesterday they were not. Otherwise I would have already seen it many times.

Speaking of seeing understudies or not in the future, does Lea Salonga usually skip matinees? I'm going in March or April with full intent of seeing her (I love the rest of the show, but if I missed her I would have to see it again) and I really don't want to miss her. Also, has she planned any outdates as of yet?

I checked TKTS and they weren't selling for the matinee. So I went to the box office and got SRO, and then found a seat for the second act. It wasn't bad. But I saw Celia hanging out in the right box seats area for "Look Down" and have every intention of trying to get those seats sometime. I went about half an hour after the box office opened, so I'm surprised the person at the window didn't mention those seats as available. Can you call on the day of to reserve box seats or SRO? It sure beats walking around Times Square for three or four hours...

I'm getting some messages regarding my performance schedule and for how long my run in Les Miz is going to be. So, just to clear things up, I will be doing all the shows on any given week (unless I'm ill or injured), and will be in the production until the end of its run, whenever that is. Right now, it's been extended through the summer. Let's see if it goes on longer.
