What are the current London cast like?

I'm going to see LM for the 5th time in London on Wednesday (matinee showing) and aside from the wonderful John Owen Jones, I don't think I've seen any of the current cast before.

Has anyone here? How are they? I'll post my review here once I've seen it but I'm looking very forward to going. There's nothing like seeing LM live really.

Hmmm let's see..
Kerry Ellis (Fantine) reminds a lot of people of Ruthie Henshall, Julia Mller is a lovely Cosette, Shonagh Daly (Eponine) is more the street brat Eponine, I liked her performance.

Good to hear about Shonagh. Tougher Eponine's are my favourite kind...and also good about Cosette. Too often she is so painfully bland and just "there" and as a result, hard to like. You know?

As I whole the current cast is good, but I felt there wasn't any performances that really stood out to me.

John Owen Jones is very good, but I feel slightly overrated.

Cornell Jones acts Javert perfectly but his voice isn't the best. Still, that didn't put me off much.

Kerry Ellis was ok as Fantine, but nothing special, and reminded me too much of Ruthie Henshall.

Barry James is ok as Thenardier, but again nothing special.

Claire Moore is always good in EVERYTHING.

Hayden Tee has a really, really beautiful voice, but his acting bored me, and he was pretty wooden at times. But his voice= wow!

I liked Shonagh Daly as Eponine, and she did play her more tough. Perhaps she over acted at times, but it didn't really effect her performance.

Julia Moeller is excellent as Cosette.

The ensemble are great. I feel that the current cast are more all at the same level as each other, and no-one really stands out. You can take that as a good thing, or a bad thing. Smile

I really don't like the Enjolras though. I liked Javert myself Smile

The current cast are really good, though Shonagh tends to shout sometimes, especially at the end of On My Own. Claire Moore left in january so there's a new Madame T (Tracie Bennet), don't know much about her. John Owen-Jones became my fav Valjean after I saw him and Julia Moller is such a sweet Cosette. I also liked Shaun Escoffey (sp?) as Enjolras, his voice was sort of souly but I really liked him. Have a good time!
