Zien Filling In For Beach?!

Didn't see a thread on this yet so hopefully I didn't miss it.

Anyone else find that very odd.
You look at Gary Beach, then Chip Zien...they're so different!

I recently went to the show, my first time seeing it every since I never liked the music and just never was able to get into it, but I only went because Mr.Zien was in it. I got a ticket for myself and sat up in G. I applauded when Chip came into scene, he was absolutly adorible. I loved how the character was- but all I could think about was how did Gary play this Mr.Masture of the House compared to Chip. I just could never see them simalure.

I actually didn't even know that Chip was a fill in until I was looking through the SB at the booth and was amazed to find Gary's pictures. The seller explained to me that Beach was the revival casted actor but got injured and is out while Chip is taking the role.

At the stage door I told Chip I rather meet him than Gary Beach anyday.

I'm a huge fan of his, but still I would have loved to see Gary in this show aswell.

Did anyone get a chance to see him? Or Chip? Maybe you've seen both? Tell me what you think about the two actors aswell as them in this role.

Thanks!
Orestes Fasting

Chip Zien is hilarious as Thnardier.

Gary Beach as Thnardier wouldn't know a joke if it jumped on his chest and did the stupid conga fingers.

And you look at Norman Large, then Ken Page, and they're so different; you look at Drew Eshelman and JP Dougherty and they're so different; you look at Nick Wyman and Bruce Spence and they're so different.

Your point?

OT: I saw Norman Large as Cladwell in a production of Urinetown here in San Diego. He was amazing.

Anyways...

Oh get over it. It's not hurting you.

No. It's hurting me.

This thread is about two actors and a musical. If you have a problem with something conserning a different matter other than the subject, I'd be quite thankful if you just PMed me instead of posting off topic complaints here.

Fasting- Wow, I'm really sad to hear that view of Beach. But if it's as you say, I guess I'm glad I saw the good one. And yes, Chip indeed was quite the laugh puller on every little thing, at it made the character and scenes oh so perfect.

Very Angry- I was just pointing out how weird it was to see Chip and think about Gary in his same place. It was just very very odd to imagine. I would have never thought about casting those two actors after one another, that's all. Not off the top of my head anyway.

Can we get back on topic now?
