21st Anniversary Recording

I would love a copy of the 21st Anniversary Recording (both acts, complete).

Please PM me. Can return the favor.

Thanks in advance!
Mademoiselle Lanoire

1 - No trading on the boards
2 - They didn't make a 21st anniversary recording
Orestes Fasting

I think he means the BBC concert, Lanoire.

And yeah, I was definitely under the impression that soliciting trades on the board is a no-no.

Theres alot of BBC radio recording on youtube.
If you type in either Simon Bailey, John Owen Jones, Sabrina Aloueche, Jon Lee- you can get lots of things- like One Day More, On My Own, Little Fall of Rain, Empty Chairs and others- I think the Epilogue is on there too somewhere!
Good luck hunting them down- would post the links myself but don't want to get into any trouble!

Wasn't this same recording distributed in its own topic a few months ago?

A 21st Anniversary recording? Seems a little pointless to me. 20th, 25th or 30th anniversaries would make more sense, don't ya think?

(Though I wanted to see a 20th anniversary concert at Wembley Stadium)

I think a big 20th anniversary was in the works, but the promoters couldn't get anything worked out.

So they staged a less bombastic 21st anniversary, which made sense because in its 21st anniversary it overtook Cats as the longest-running musical in West End history.

Is the BBC one the TAC? Or is there another concert I have to get my hands on?

Nope, the TAC and the BBC concert are different. (Although the TAC was transmitted on BBC Radio on 14th October 1995). The BBC recording was recorded especially for BBC Radio 2 last October, to mark the 21st anniversary, featuring the then current London Cast. It was only broadcast once and unfortunately hasn't been released officially onto CD.

I didn't like the recording at all. I threw it off my computer yesterday. If I had known sooner I could have given it to you.

I didn't think it was bad--most of the casting was pretty good, save Javert perhaps. The cuts were very jarring at times though.

Perhaps you can answer this question for me, Fantine. Isn't this the concert where the original London cast came out to sing One Day More with the (then) current cast? Where was that during the concert? After the entire "show" and epilogue? I've seen clips of the reunion One Day More on Youtube but it wasn't on the BBC recording I got on here.
Fantine

No that wasn't on that night of the BBC recording, I think. Not sure Confused

Okay, thanks. Hmm. That's strange. Now I can't figure out at which event the OLC reunion was. Can anyone help out here?

It was at the actual performance of the show on the night of the 21st anniversary.

BBC Concert- Recorded on Friday 15 September 2006 at the Mermaid Theatre. Broadcast on Sunday 8 October 2006.

21st Anniversary Performance (with the OLC reunion at the end)- Saturday 7 October 2006 at the Queens Theatre.

Okay. That makes sense now. I guess I heard "21st Anniversary Performance" and assumed it was in reference to the concert.

Thanks for that.
