A very special day!

22 years young! Hapy Birthday Les Mis!
flying_pigs

22 years and still going strong!

Anyone going/been to the show tonight?
Fantine

I had totally forgotten about it. Shocked

That's the first time I forgot. What does that tell me?
Quique

I remembered. Smile

Happy B-day!!!! lol.
EponinesRain

Oooh, I totally forgot, too! So, yay- happy bday! Very Happy

EponineMNFF

Happy birthday, Les Mis!

I wore my barricade sash, Eponine hat, dirt and red and black shoes all day! And I wore my Les Mis shirt once school was over and I could get out of uniform. Good times! The funny thing was that a surprising amount of people actually knew what I was talking about when I explained why I was wearing all that.

Wow you went all out. lol I would've been a bit too self-conscious to go out like that.

But aside from that, happy birthday Les Mis!

......you are about to file for divorce Laughing

I remembered, and the evening was sold out at The Queens (i have been to the theatre next to it in the matinee)
lesmisloony

I wore my LM shirt! Every year before this I've done a lot more, but I tragically forgot to bring my sashes, buttons, and Eponine hat with when I moved into my dorm. And I wrote "HAPPY LES MIS'S BIRTHDAY, EVERYBODY!" in humongous letters on my whiteboard... And I ordered the Jean Gabin movie off eBay for $ 0.99... so...
Eponine93

I listened to the music for the first time in a LONG time. For a while, the CD had become permanentaly engraved in my brain to the point that I'd be completely bored while listening to it, but I took a few months off and completely forgot how good Les Mis is.
Electricity24601

Hehe! I gave up listening to Les Mis for lent once... I did it too, but it was a struggle.

Know what you mean about the CD getting boring- that's where different, um, shall we say, different kinds of recordings come in handy.

Now- back on topic. I totally forgot (when my friend prodded me I was like "What? Barricade day already happened this year") but I think I have compensated by the fact that I have a running countdown going until the 23rd (JOJ and Judy's first night, also my b-day treat). Whenever my friend (who I am taking) and I see each other in the hall, we shout out "12 more days" or "John Owen-Jones" or "Judy Kuhn". We get some strange looks Laughing
Eponine93

OMG. I wish I went to school with you guys. If only I lived about a mile over...

Are you going to post the pictures from the football game in the social club?
Lara

Oops... I forgot about Les Mis's birthday. I feel bad now. D:

If it makes yourself feel any better, Lara...I didn't even know. *gasp* To think, I call myself a Les Miserables fan. XD

I was actually pretty serious when I wrote that. I don't know much about the facts about the show, just the music.

Nevertheless, happy (late) birthday Les Miserables!

Another les Mis Birthday could be on september 17.
On that day in 1980, the original show started in Paris, Palais des Sports. It is the day that songs like "L'air de la misre", " A la volont du peuple", "J'avais rv d'une autre vie", "Demain", "Le coeur au bonheur", "La faute Voltaire" or "Ce n'est rien" could be heard live...

Of course the show was quite different than the one we know today, but the structure was the same, and the main tunes used throughout the show were already at their best... Wink
Quique

*Shakes fist at everyone who forgot his daughter's B-day*
Fantine

I do apologise Quique Wink

Is Les Mis what you're referring to in your current obsession then?

He is.

I wasn't thinking this before you brought this up... But that 'Current obsession' of his does seem a little... perverted? If you don't know. If you get what I mean.

Bad Quique! Shame on you

I thought he had an actual daughter...
Quique

PERVERTED!???!! Shocked How so? I don't have a sexual fetish with Les Mis or Cosette! Ewww. I think perverted is the wrong word. Weird, crazy, looney, maybe, but not perverted! lol. Laughing

Btw...mastachen, I call Cosette my "daughter dearest" in jest. I love the show so much, I've adopted the show's emblem as my daughter!!!! LaughingRazz lol.
Fantine

Well yes, if you know that it is Cosette you mean, and not your own daughter Wink
Men being obsessed by their daughters... That doesn't seem very healthy to me.
Quique

Well!!! Not talking

*Kills the perverted Fantine, lol*
Fantine

Iz ded.
Quique

When I say "obsessed with daughter dearest," I actually mean obsessed with Les Mis.

This has nothing to do with lusting over young girls. That's sick. Don't know why you even brought that up, lol. XD
Fantine

I KNOW.

I was just saying that it could be perceived in both ways. Or maybe that is just my twisted mind, studying too much Psychology lately.
Quique

lol. No worries, gal. Smile
