Anthony Crivello's Javert.

What a great performance, judging from hearing it.

Javert's always been my favourite character, but it's always irked me to hear so many Javerts, especially during the 90s, cast as a dull droning bass. I like it better when he's a versatile high baritone and can convincingly stand up to Valjean vocally. Quast is the ultimate example, of course.

But Crivello...I've always been enchanted by his Grantaire performance on the TAC, but...man. What a great Javert. Perhaps a little too shouty for me at times, but the octave jump on "must pay the price" was amazing. I really need to seek out his Phantom now, because this was thrilling.

Just needed to get that out there.

I saw him as Javert on tour and he was amazing. Very hard and fierce. Hands down, he was the best Javert I've seen so far.

I'm neutral on his Phantom, but his Javert is my favorite.

I'm very curious now...anybody have any decent audio or video footage or any links to said footage?
