Audition (for a school show)I don't actually think we're doing the school version, but in a few months my school has auditions for Les Mis. I'm in high school, I'm a soprano, and I'm not very tall. I don't know the show that well, but I guess the best role I could audition for would be Cosette (the old one). We don't audition for specific roles, but I usually like to have one in mind.
Any suggestions on music for me?

If it's a school production, they have to be doing the school version and they will be in breach of contract if they put on the full version.
Cosette is indeed the only soprano role; your next best bet is Fantine, who is a mezzo. And if you're short and they're not getting a Young Cosette from another school, consider that as well.
Go to the Auditions forum for music suggestions. Any ingenue type thing would work for Cosette, and if you're going for Young Cosette as well, look into "The Girl I Mean to Be" from Secret Garden.

Aren't the rights for the full show coming out later this year?
It is safe to bet that if your school is doing it, it's the School Edition, though.

Right, that makes sense. My school has middle and high school connected, so no trouble finding a Young Cosette there.
