Orestes Fasting

Cameos for a new Dream CastHere's a variation on the tired old "Make your own dream cast" topic. If they redid the TAC for the 25th anniversary of the show, who would you put in the ensemble roles?
In the TAC these often went to people who were well-known for one of the main roles, but in the end someone else was picked for that role. For example, Michael McCarthy got passed over in favor of Philip Quast but was still made factory foreman; most of the TAC barricade boys had played either Enjolras or Marius. There were also a few OLC ensemble members who got to reprise their ensemble roles for the TAC.
So, if there were another dream cast who would you put in the ensemble roles?
Here are a few of mine:
- Colm Wilkinson as the Bishop, if he can handle the low notes
- Assuming that either Aaron Lazar or David Thaxton were Enjolras, the other would totally have to be the loudhailer. I refuse to accept the idea of a dream cast that does not include both of them somewhere.
- Rob Hunt for factory foreman (much as I love him, I wouldn't make him dream-cast principal, but he deserves a huge nod for his devotion to the show and general awesomeness)
- Joanna Ampil has to be in there somewhere. Factory girl?
- Ben Davis for a barricade boy, and Cameron Mackintosh's soul to the devil

- Michael Ball for the Majordomo at the wedding!
- Shonagh Daly for the "listen you old bat..." whore because I highly doubt anyone apart from me would want her as Eponine. Either way she'd explode everyone's eardrums.
- Leanne Dobinson as the "God I'm weary..." whore
- Roger Allam and Philip Quast as the two constables in the prologue (they were the most adorable La Cage pairing!)
- As another option for if-Thaxton-isn't-Enjolras, he could be Bamatabois. I'd love to see that one again.
But if they're running short on budget then Drew Sarich can just be every ensemble member, male or female

*gigglesnort* The "Drew Sarich as everyone" meme will never stop being funny. I'm waiting for him to get cast as Th�nardier in the new tour or something.
Also, YES to Allam and Quast as the constables.

You know, I do think that could be one role he'd actually pull off. (Though I've said that before and been proven wrong.. )

Make him Madame Thenardier and I'll be camped out at the box office.
