Aaron Lazar... was he in Piazza?
I didn't recognize any of the other names, but that doesn't really say much... |
||
Etoile |
I only recognize Jenny Galloway and Robert Hunt. He was Javert when I saw the show. It's interesting that he's playing Courfeyrac in the revival, he was an awesome Javert.

I recently saw Robert Hunt play Javert too, he was really good. I like to think that they are adjusting the understudy assignments so Robert will be understudying Javert.
As for the ensemble, small roles,I recongize Marissa McGowan, Dan Bogart, James Chip Leonard, and Karen Elliott, and Matt Clemens. All of them are currently on the U.S. tour. |

I think it's so cute that Lea Michelle (sp?) is playing Eponine after she was young cosette......so cute!.....I can't wait for the TOUR auditions come out though!!! I did this "broadway boot camp" (http://www.thebroadwaycompany.com/) thing with Adam Hunter (Timon on B-WAy)...and Dave Barras (In Les mis on b-way, cds, chess, gaston in the movie "Beauty and The Beast") annnnd also David Petro who is a big time casting director (He cast Wicked the Tour, and is currently casting the movie of hairspray)...anyway, they all agreed that I could "walk into that role" of Eponine ((and I told them I'd played her not too long ago))and they told me to audition for the tour and I was SO SO SO SO SO SO SO SO excited...I've never been happier...so they said to wait till the revival cause the tour wouldn't be too far off....ksdfgnkfjgn..woo!! haha

If you go to the link, you can read the proper spelling of her surname. Interesting "news" about a revival tour. Heh. |

I'm pretty sure the tour was closing soon though?
Ep-Griz-Reno |
Yes, but they let me know that as soon as the revival kicked off, they'd be making another tour with a new cast |

That's what everyone seems to think. Technically, it is true. The tour is closing in St. Louis. They have to since the physical production (sets, costumes, props, etc.) are going to Broadway, but they can officially re-open as a new tour later on. The question is, will it be non-Equity? Someone I spoke to who's had a long history with the tour didn't think Mackintosh would go that route before releasing the regional rights, so I guess we'll see. |

Daphne Rubin-Vega was the original Mimi in RENT... Quite interested to hear her take on the role of Fantine, don't know whether to be excited or terrified though. Her voice has a very raw and raspy quality, which will either add to the character or detract. One thing I'll say for her, while her Mimi wasn't always 'pleasant' to listen to, her vocals certainly overflowed with emotion and that, in musical theatre, can certainly trump singing imperfections.

Cast is looking good. Can't wait.
Annaliese |
If she were younger she would have been a better Eponine- her voice is the closest musical theatre singing voice to what I imagine Eponine would have sounded like (based on the novel)

Wow..Daphne playing Fantine that's a surprise..I'm sure she'll be good, she is able to pull off a WIDE reange of emotion using her voice, and is a really good actress..I wonder how it'll turn out! I'm not too familiar with the rest of the cast..I've seen some of the ensemble members in other shows though, and I heard that Jenny Galloway is really good!
