DREW SARICH AS JEAN VALJEAN!

Today, July 23rd, Drew Sarich of Lestat and Les Miz (he played Grantaire and covered Javert and Enjolras) started his three month run as Jean Valjean!

Has anyone seen him? How great is he?

Well, of course, no one's seen him as Valjean yet since the performance is going on now.

If you mean in his other roles I've seen him as Grantaire and Enjolras. I didn't particularly care for his Enjolras because I didn't get a real sense of authority from him but he's a riot as Grantaire.

I'll be interested in reading reviews of his Valjean since I can't see him in that role at all.

I haven't seen him, but I think your wording here is really great. How you rule in the other direction and, instead of being negative, you see the glass as half full and say "how great is he?" Sorry, I'm being really corny, but I thought that was cool.

I saw him as Javert last month, and he was GREAT! He played a very manical Javert, which I loved.

I just watched a clip of him as Javert on youtube and he was fantastic, IMO...

I mean...

No I didn't?

I find Drew Sarich's heavy American accent to be very distracting in his singing.

But maybe that's just because I find American accents annoying in theatre, especially in a show that's so distinctly European. *note: I am American
