Eponine costumeI'm performing in a cabaret next month and am singing "On My Own". Yes, its way overdone. I know. But I wanted to put together a sort of Eponine costume. Does anyone know what kind of hat it is she wears and where I might get one? Thanks. |

I personally think if you are just going for the spirit of the character the hat should be the right shape but the rest doesn't matter as much as how you perform it. If you sing it amazingly nobody will give a damn about the hat. |

The acessory store "Claire's" usually has quite a few hats of the same style. I'm not sure if Claire's is outside of New York though.

It depends if you want Act I or Act I. My friends and I dressed up as Cosette, Eponine Act I and Eponine Act II to go see Les Mis. In my signature you can get an idea for the sort of clothing you'll need. If it's Act I, you'd want the skirt, shirt, hat, belt, and boots. If it's Act II, substitute the skirt for pants and add a coat. Good luck!

Wow, that's a big sig. Also, the link to your website is not correct. Add the "http://"

Claire's is everywhere. You can also try Target or Mervyn's. Ren Faires are good (expensive) places for such hats, too. But keep in mind, you do NOT have to follow Andreane Neofitou's designs. |

Okay, The Very Angry Woman, I fixed my signature and will fix my website link in a moment, thank you.
I believe the Eponine hat is called a newsboy cap. |

Does anyone have an ideas for an easy costume I can wear when I go see the revival? I want to dress up as Eponine, but try to make something easy yet recognizable.

How about a sign on your chest that says, "I AM A FREAK. CELIA KEENAN-BOLGER, GO OUT ANOTHER EXIT." Should be easy -- just a Sharpie and some poster board, and a string. |

Hahaha, I'm sorry Eponine I'm not laughing at you. It's just the way The Very Angry Woman phrased it. Classic. |

Unless you're making excruciatingly detailed reproductions like some people do with the Phantom dresses, going in costume to a show is rather tacky. If you want to be cute and wear a tribute to the show, just wear a newsboy cap with regular clothes or something.

I'm inclined to agree actually. Eponine's costumes are hardly stylised: a trench coat, dirty skirt, white sleeveless top, hat, belt. You could go as little Eponine and wear a little blue hat.

I'm a Les Mis freak and I would NEVER go to the show dressed in costume. It's childish and weird.
It's also attention-whorish and disrespectful. |

Dressing up to go see a show is for RENTheads and Jellicles.
I admit to doing them both. |

And Pimpies. But don't show William Michals your Marguerite dress, because he'll mock you mercilessly. (No, I do not know from first-hand experience. Second.) |

I love second hand experiences. |
