Favorite Duet Song?

I know there aren't that many, but I figured I ask.

I personally like "A Little Fall of Rain." That song is really pretty.
Sweeney Hyde

The Confrontation is incredible musically. It also gives us much more insight to the characters...especially Javert's backround.
What Is This Feeling?

I went with Every Day. I like it, it is such a beautiful refreshing song. It shows us a glimpse at the happiness the two will have through out their lifetime. Also, after a half hour of Barricade/ Sewage gore, women mourning their husbands and sons, and Marius being broody, it is a delight! And gives us some happiness, which is so much more authentic and well deserved when their is misery throughout.

I picked Fantine's Death.

I love love love the part where Fantine says "The Night grows ever colder" and Valjean interupts with "Then I will keep you warm."

I really like that part too. Smile

A Heart Full of Love..not sure why it isn't on there, but yes, I am a hopeless romantic.
EponineBarker

Well, the reason I didn't put it on there is because it's not excatly a duet...it's more of a trio because Marius, Cosette, and Eponine sing it.

Oh yeah... I forgot about Eponine. By the way, I really like your signature and avatar. Where are they from?

Thanks! Very Happy

I downloaded a Les Mis game from this site:

And in one of the files, it included some pics, so I combined them and used it as my banner, and chose one for my avvie.

I said A Little Fall of Rain (just because it makes me cry every time I see it), but Confrontation was a REALLY close second. I adore that song. My friend learned the Javert lines and we spontaneously break into song whenever we see each other. <.<

My favorite is "A little Fall Of Rain".
It's very emotional...
my tears fell down on my cheeks upon hearing It. Applause

Agreed. This song makes me cry, especially the bit where she sings "where all the children play"

Crying or Very sad
flying_pigs

Confrontation is an amazing song, especially when performed well.
UniquePerspective

Gotta go with Confrontation, with A Little Fall of Rain at a close second.
actor

A Little Fall of Rain or Come to Me.
LesMisForever

I love "The Confrontation". And as flying_pigs said, if it is performed well, then it is amazing.

When you get great Valjean and Javert, then it is a joy.
Fantine

I don't really specifically like any of the duets more than the other, or maybe I don't like the duets in Les Mis in general. I haven't figured it out yet.
Eponine93

Even though I'm not an Eppie-bopper and now that I've read the book, I know it wasn't really intended to be like that, I have to pick A Little Fall of Rain. It's got a gorgeous melody, it's sweet and it's depressing. Second is the Confrontation. Musically, it's one of the best parts in the show.
Paula74

I picked "Come To Me." Fantine's death scene is always so heartbreaking. And the music is lovely.

Love "Confrontation" if you've got two really strong leads playing off each other.

And "A Little Fall of Rain" is so poignant.
bwaydisaster

I went with Fantine's death. It's so emotional, not to mention the desperation that's in Fantine's voice. It really touches me, especially when played by the right actress.
Wickedfan24601

I LOVE "A Little Fall of Rain"! It's so tragic but it's also very beautiful. So sad Eponine has to die! Sad
Orestes Fasting

A Little Fall of Rain is probably the only song in the show that I've always hated and that never grew on me at all. First time I heard it I thought it was an awful, sappy song that totally missed the mark emotionally, even though Come to Me and all the other tearjerkers totally succeeded in pushing my buttons. And that opinion never really changed, even though most of the other songs in the show eventually grew on me.
Damn_Badgers

I would have to go for Confrontation. Its just a great song, and I especially love the counterpoint lines. Great stuff.
soph-les-mis

I went for Confrontation because of the musicality in it.. But I have almost only heard Colm Wilkinson/Philip Quast and JOJ/Hans Peter Janssens, so.. they were both brilliant, but I would love to hear and see Philip Quast and JOJ sing it together.. Smile
Pannic

The Confrontation. Javert going into the bass register for the win.

I agree, I get chills when he sings that low F... Smile

I know! I was listening and I was like "the 'chain' doesn't go that low...oh it does, bloody hell".

I also love Colm Wilkinsons "My race is not yet ruh-huun"

So, Confrontation gets my vote... Real men fight by singing in counterpoint!

A Heart Full of Love

That would be mine too, however, can it be considered a duet?
Quique

Yes. Well, at least until Eponine comes in and ruins it, lol.

Yes, and when they both sing "Javert!" at the same time.. Razz Confrontation is just the best, but it's all too short...Although I love Javert's singing, I think he should have more low notes... Smile

That just made my day. I think that's my new motto!

I voted for "Come to Me" because it can be so hauntingly beautiful if done with proper pathos. "Confrontation" was an incredibly close second, though. It lost by maybe 0.00000001 of a percentage point. Such amazingness.

The show's composers don't sing to like low notes that much. Look at Miss Saigon with it's all-tenor males.

I like Confrontation - Very great song and also
A little Fall Of rain - tragic yet emotional
