Favourite pairings?I was wondering which characters you like to ship (either in fanfics or in general, if you just like the idea). It can be slash, unconventional, impossible (deceased people and stuff), anything!I personally love the idea of Fantine x Enjolras. I also like Favourite x Tholomyes and Eponine x Montparnasse. Then of course there's my fave true couple: Marius x Cosette. |

I can't see Fantine/Enjolras working out romantically, even despite the age difference. Relationships founded on pity don't tend to work very well, and besides, Enjolras/anyone is usually a bad idea. Unless it's Combeferre or someone else he knows and trusts, and even then it's iffy. That, and the one time I tried to write them together Enjolras had a conscience attack and Fantine started acting all maternal, and all was generally platonic. (Yep, this is letitallgo from LJ.)
I do have a soft spot for Enjolras/Grantaire, but only if they're driving each other crazy in some form or another. Fluff for that pairing defeats the purpose. Otherwise, I'll read anything as long as it's well-written. |

I never quite understood Enjolras/Grantaire. I mean I understand where people would get the idea from with that scene in the book where Grantaire says "I believe in the revolution because I am part of it" (or something like that, don't quite recall...when the soldiers are about to shoot Enjolras and Grantaire wakes up from his drunken stupor). But I still don't understand the pairing in general. Enjolras seems too dedicated to the revolution to have time for anything else.

I also like Enjolras x Grantaire. Their death scene is just so moving... But of course Enjy's only love is "Patria" so he cannot love anyone. I know that Fantine x Enjolras would make a terrible pair... But I still think the idea is really cute. Two blondes... I don't know. |

I rather like Marius/Grantaire, though I can probably blame that entirely on two current members of the London cast. But I've always been a Valjean/Javert girl at heart. And I do like Prouvaire/Feuilly from time to time.

I find just about all the fan fiction, or improsible pairings strange.
I don't like Eponine and Montparnesse and glad she broke up with him, as much as they had a relationship, though it may have been mutual considering his behavior during the scene that is "Plumet Attack." Marius and Cosette's relationship does have a certain charm to it. It is not perfect, of course, but it is the closest in the book to what I think the ideal relationship is. |

Well of course Marius x Cosette is the most normal relationship in the book, hence it is the only romantic female x male relationship that actually works out... That is why I am more interested in unconventional relationships that people like... | ||||||

I wouldn't call it a soft spot so much as an unnecessarily hard spot--if he were soft on Valjean he would've given up hunting him ages ago and just let the man be. Which isn't to say that obsession can't lead to slash, only that happy fluffy Valjean/Javert makes me want to puke almost as much as happy fluffy Grantaire/Enjolras. |

I really love Eponine/Montparnasse. I like Eponine/Marius, but not the fics where they run off into the sunset and only from the unreqietened love angle. I wouldn't actually want them to properly get together, but the wishing is fun. I think Cosette/Marius are sweet but kind of dull (although when I've seen good actresses playing Cosette with a bit of real feeling they work much better).
I also have a strangely twisted thing for the idea of Javert/Eponine. I think if well written in fic it could be good. Slash wise, the idea of Enjolras/Marius kind of appeals to me. |

To stop this being an entirely pointless post, I would just like to present my one shot Enjolras/Eponine as it should be written: * Eponine falls over the barricade. Enjolras looks at her for half a second and doesn't even notice the fact that there's blood all over her stomach, or in fact, that she is a girl. "He's safe." Eponine is too busy dying to notice him back. The end. |

Still... Ah, I'm just a stupid sucker for romantic fanfics, I'll take anything! In fact, I'm going to watch the 1998 movie right here, right now, to see how Valjean wants to get into Fantine's nickers big time! j/k, I don't want to see that movie again. |
