Female Audition for Les MiserablesSo even though it's far away I'm starting to prepare for an audition at a local theatre for Les Miz. I'm aiming towards one of the three leads: Fantine, Eponine, or Cosette.
To give you a rough idea of my experience I'm seventeen and I've played Belle twice in Beauty and the Beast and other roles such as Grace in Annie. I'm a mezzo-soprano, but my range can stretch pretty far.
So far I've been considering either Back to Before from Ragtime or I Don't Know How to Love Him from Jesus Christ Superstar for an audition song, but the problem is that I want to be considered for all of the female roles, but I don't know what song would portray that. If anyone has any suggestions or feedback regarding my current song choices please let me know!

It's very hard to find something that goes from Fantine's range up to Cosette's range, and they're all completely different roles. I can only suggest, maybe, is "As long as he needs me", but that is mostly for Eponine and Fantine. But I always suggest that. And it's a very popular song for auditions, I'd assume, whcih isn't going to help. "The light in the piazza", maybe? That could work for Cosette and Eponine...

I'm the first to admit that I know hardly anything about ranges, so I'd take this with a pinch of salt. But I use "Papa Can You Hear Me" from Yentl as an audition song (my singing teacher suggested it to me) because it covers quite a wide range, suits a more classical voice and isn't overused. I'm an eighteen year old mezzo soprano with quite a wide range too, so it looks like we're pretty similar
I don't know if it's any use but I thought I'd suggest it just in case.
