German YouTube ClipsI found some Duisburg, Germany Les Mis vids!!! Omfg...!!!!!This production played at Duisburg's Music Hall from 26 January, 1996 - 28 November, 1999. I can hardly believe the clarity of these vids! It's like almost being there! Unfortunately, the ending of "One Day More" was cut off a bit. Too bad since it just builds up and you never get to see the very end but it is one of the greatest clips of the song onstage that I've ever seen. You can even see John Napier's magnificent set in the background at the end, which is very rare to see in any vid. Nothing special, just brick walls and junk but I love the way David Hersey's brilliant lighting looks against that grey set. "One Day More" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1ZdF4zorZS0 "On My Own" (I love how this one pulls away and shows part of the overall picture of the lit shuttered windows in the background. And I LOVE this orchestra! Especially the expressive string section. Plays at a perfect tempo, unlike the other German "On My Own" I posted below.) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qOM5iGQ3M6I "I Dreamed a Dream" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YnuMstpN-Xc "Do You Hear the People Sing?" (I love this one!!! I can't believe the clarity! Though this one cuts off at the end as well, grrr.) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=437KS6itfd8 "Castle On a Cloud" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9KejcFkmPKI "Come to Me" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=scrjwMdS8nw "A Little Fall Of Rain" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S3fQ8iQn3bc "A Heart Full Of Love" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t5cgT3wQn44 "Empty Chairs At Empty Tables" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N4P-FV1BopI "In My Life" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uit4nM3MJ-4 "Stars" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZSeR2BZXqi0 I also found some from the Berlin production which played the Theater des Westens from 16 September, 2003 - 31 December, 2004. "Drink With Me" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o7UBdxdLyqI "On My Own" (Wow, I've never seen an Eponine sprint across the stage during "On My Own," until now. Kinda overly dramatic but I like it.) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gmKHM-6DfVg "Empty Chairs At Empty Tables" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c_MBVNEK12k "A Little Fall Of Rain" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fyggq0f91_g "Bring Him Home" (It's mislabelled "Stars") http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o7UBdxdLyqI "Who Am I?" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o4Udgc4_7dI "Stars" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4MbsyOC8u6g "Javert's Soliloquy (Who Is This Man?)" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RIkbcXWoUBA |

The German productions always had fantastic casts. I don't suppose you stumbled across anything from the Berlin production that had Fantine in it? Because Ann-Christin Elverum is possibly my favorite Fantine ever and I'd love to see a video of her. | ||

Yeah, but it'd only be for nine months. After that, there would be occasional visits to New York City and staring at my partial creation through Broadway.com photo ops. |
