Gavroche Girly

Going to see Les Miserables tonight!

I'm so excited! Tonight, Les Miserables is showing at the Fifth Avenue in Seattle...I'm going to go see it!

Tonight, think of your favorite Les Mis song at 7:30 at night--that is when I'll be wide-eyed at the beginning of my favorite musical on Earth!

Any shows you'll be seeing soon?
The Very Angry Woman

Enjoy it and be sure to post a review. I won't get to see Les Miz for another two months -- and by then it'll have been a year (!) since I saw it last.

As it is 5 past midnight here in the UK what time should i be thinking of the song and technically it will be this morning?! Wink

Well, it's quarter to 1am, so they should be half way through now. But I'm really generalising: I think of the US as 5-6 hours behind, as I lived in Florida for 10 years, and the UK for the past 8 years.

It's almost 5 p.m. here; I'm in the same time zone as Seattle.

Oh. So, only an hour and a half to go! You'll love it!

So, how was it Gavroche Girly?
Gavroche Girly

It was AMAZING! It has always been my favorite musical.

However, I didn't think it was possible to love it any more than I already did! I was wrong!

The Fantine was a tad bit too operetic for the role...

But the Eponine, Gavroche, and Valjean were INCREDIBLE! The ranges were unique and rather dynamic.

Did you see any understudies?

How was the Javert? Can you post the cast list up, or can someone direct me to a link where I can see the cast list? Many thanks.

Dear lord, what the hell do they do to his face when he plays Javert? It looks completely square.

Lol, also: compare it to his other characters who are weaker (e.g. Joseph) where he looks small and pathetic. I like the contrast.
The Very Angry Woman

I've seen him as Javert twice. He really isn't that terrifying, I swear. (Scarier in portrayal than makeup, at any rate.)

Did you see Austyn Myers as Gavroche? I saw him and he was amazing.

Was Randal Keith Valjean? Again - my favourite.

Also, did you have any understudies?

Glad you loved the show Smile

Is he good? How would you rate him?

Hear him on there! I don't think he's bad. Not one of the best i've heard but still not bad!

He's excellent. Not my favorite, but he was very authoritative, and, as I said before, scary. His Javert is not someone I would want to meet in real life.

Pierce is relatively short for a Javert (I'd say around 5' 10"), and he sort of incorporated it into his performance -- like his Javert was self-conscious about it, and was overcompensating for his lack of height.

Great voice, too. I'd like to see him again.
Colle

I have seen Pierce as Javert too. His Javert is kind of subtle, which took some getting used to, though overall he was pretty good.
