Cosette Jean Valjean's beautiful adopted daughter who falls in love with Marius.

Eponine The Thenardiers spoiled but kind daughter who later falls in love with Marius.

Can you say "love triangle"? Wink

Cosette is the daughter of Fantine...when she is young, she lives with the Thenardiers, Eponine's parents. She is eventually adopted by Valjean, however, and when she grows up, she falls in love with the student named Marius. But she doesn't realize that Eponine, her old housemate, loves Marius as well.

Yep..its one of those sad, but life-like love triangles...
broadway's Belle

thanks for clearing that up Smile

Neither is googling for a synopsis, but I guess that can be tough, too.
Aimee

Neither is keeping the sarcasm in check.

i simply posted a simple question. i had only looked it up once and that is what i got. and they sounded like the same person. mind you i had no idea about the show before hand. so if you dont want to give me a simple answer and would rather be rude about it then post your comments elsewhere.

thank you to the few that helped. Smile

^ Applause I really admire you. In all seriousness, it takes a lot of guts to go in a forum full of obsessive Les Mis fans and admit you have a limited knowledge of the show. I wouldn't have been able to do it. Some of the people in here who know more can get a little catty when it comes to people with a limited knowledge of Les Mis.

As far as recordings go, you're best off getting the TAC (Tenth Anniversary Concert) recording. It isn't as thorough as the Complete Symphonic Recording, but the CSR has pretty bad performers, except for a few. The OLC recording has some really good performers, but a lot of the music is changed from what you see in the actual show.

Have fun seeing the show! I know you'll have a GREAT time, it's a wonderful show. Don't forget to bring a hankerchief.

And remember to give us a detailed review Wink

I bolded the key phrase for you.

Most of us catty elitist Les Mis bitches are perfectly happy to answer questions that can't be solved by a thirty-second Google search.

broadway's Belle - what the synopsis didn't tell you is that at the point where the love triangle occurs, Eponine is no longer a spoiled, pampered kid and has in fact descended into poverty with her family and become a street rat.

OF, I wasn't referring to you as a catty elitist Les Mis bitch. And one thing I forgot to add about all of those obsessive fans- they're smart. I would kill to know half as much as Les Mis as you do, Orestes.

I know oist that came out rude, and I'm sorry, but I was so stressed last week and I though you guys should have given the poor girl a break. Sorry.

I think you got the point across.

Broadway's Belle, I completely understand how you feel, believe me, I was ignorant about the plotline and characters not too long ago.

And The Very Angry Woman, would you please cut the sarcasm?! I will admit, it's fine every once in a while, but this is just getting ridiculous.

I never said I wanted to. It's just redundant.

Oh, but I embrace my catty elitist bitchiness. Laughing

Broadway's Belle- I hope you didn't take my post as one of the snooty comments. That was not my intention. As Eponine93 suggested, please post your review of the show after you've watched it! I would love to see some initial thoughts and reactions. Have a good time! Smile

And, don't let anybody here get to you. We're all just die-hard Les Mis fans and nice people. You'll just have to get used to all of us.
Aimee

New members please note, some members here can be rude when it just not needed. There is a code of behaviour here and if they over step it they will be told so by the mods.

I personally don't see the need for sarcasm either and have appealed to various members not to behave like this. It seems they are polite for a while then go back to their normal sarcastic/unpleasant way of speaking. We do try to keep the forum free from this so please don't let it put you off coming here.

I appeal again to you all, if you enjoy being sarcastic and 'angry', to cut it out and to encourage new members politely not discourage them by being brusque.

Thank you.
Eponine93

Thank you, Aimee.

We really should have a newbie thread. Not with actual rules, but just things you should know about the forum that you'll pick up after you've been on here for a while. I'm just afraid people will get insulted.
Aimee

We have discussed things like it in the past and though helpful we never actually agree what should go on there as we all have different ideas about it, some contradictory.

For example, some people say newbies should search for and add to old threads while other people hate it if old threads are posted on. You just can't please everyone. All we can do is ask people to be polite and if someone does something that actually annoys them to ignore it and not to be rude about it just because its something they dont agree with.

How about links to reputable sources of information about the show, and a list of Threads And Questions We Really Don't Want to See Again?
Aimee

Sources of information is a good idea Very Happy if someone does it I'll stick it.

Unfortunately I know from having tried it that a 'Questions We Really Don't Want to See Again' thread just won't work. New members arrive on the forum, don't see the thread and post a question, then they get even more jumped on for missing the 'Questions We Really Don't Want to See Again' thread.

Sadly it actually makes the attacks worse not better.
Orestes Fasting

Even if the thread's a sticky?

...a sticky with the answers to the questions we don't want to see again? Laughing Be easy to just post a link to the thread then, instead of jumping in with snark.

Hmmm, what kinds of information should we have in a sticky? The biggest thing, I think, would be info on the school edition. What the cuts and differences are, what the requirements are, why it's not okay to break the requirements. And maybe a link to a site with audition information, because god knows there are plenty of them out there.
