Homework Help - Who's Your Favorite Character? So I'm doing a project for Creative Writing - What qualities do people look for when choosing a favorite character? I figured that you guys could help me with this one, after all, the conclusion sounds more realistic when you have actual facts or the support of others to back it up. So if you could please post who your favorite character is and then post why you like them it would be a big help.
And, no, you're not doing my project for me, I've already done most of it, I just thought having this would help make my project better.
And I apologize for any spelling mistakes. I probably should know how to spell them, considering I was in a small production of Les Mis, but I don't. Sorry.
I hope to see everyone's post.
Thanks!

Here's an example of what I would like:
My favorite character is Young Cosette. When she is little, she is so pitiful that she makes you want to give her a hug. Also, I played her when I was in Les Mis, so that makes it hard for me to like any other character better.
That isn't so bad, is it? It doesn't even have to be that long, as long as you make it clear to me who you choose, and especially why you choose them.
Thanks again!

You might want to spell "Enjolras" and "Gavroche" correctly.

You might also want to look at a thread further down the page, most people stated why they liekd certain characters there.

My two favorites are Javert and Thenardier. Javert is obsessed by law and order to the point where it becomes his downfall, and it's interesting to have a character whose tragic flaw is actually a quality that would USUALLY be positive. And I love his songs, too ^_^
With Thenardier, on the other hand, I love that he has absolutely no redeeming characteristics whatsoever. Excellent villain.

Eponine because there is so much information about her thats implied but never stated.

It's like choosing between children, if I had children that is. I "love" them all, just some more then others.
Pretty much for me it's a close fight between Jean, Javert, Eponine, and Bishop Bienvenu. While Jean and Javert have the awesome personalities and drive to do what they think is right Eponine is just hot, especially in the Original Broadway Cast recording. All that being said I think the Bishop takes it. While he has such a small role in the play he make Jean Valjean who he is and sets the basis for everything else.
So my vote goes to "other".
I feel like a rebel...or a loner...

Eponine is my favourite because her song is beautiful and is the one which I think brings out the most emotion. Her story is something which a lot of people fele they can relate to and I feel that it is one of if not the saddest storyline in the musical.

Yea, and I can't believe you left out Thernardier.
Pfft.
Anyways, he's my favorite character, as I already stated in the other favorite character thread.

Young Cosette is my favorite because I LOVE Castle on a Cloud. I did a ballet dance to it in 1st grade and I've loved it ever since.

I will fix the mistakes when I get home, thanks for correcting those mistakes.
And I'm sorry for leaving out Thernardier, but the poll only allowed ten options and he wouldn't fit. And I knew I wouldn't spell that right anyway.

Hey!
New on this forum, so I thought I'd introduce myself by posting my favourite character ... which is Javert!
I think he's an interesting character with a lot of levels ... at first some people tend to look at him as just the "bad guy" of the show (or the book), but I think he's so much more than that. I do tend to like characters that aren't to "simple", because I don't think there are any "simple" people in the world ... everybody has different sides, and different motives to what they do ...

eponine is my favourite. she's gutsy and has such a doomed existance. you empathise and sympathise with her. plus its a sad irony that the only time she is happy in her life, is during her death.

There's also the part where she's prancing around in a dress, being a very happy little bully.
But that part isn't important since she isn't angsting and feeling all the unrequited love every single teenage girl has ever felt OMG and they love Eponine OMG.
