What Is This Feeling?

I have yet another a question........

Ok, I have yet another question. I don't know yet if full regional rights have been released, but I have a question about the set and costumes for school and future regional productions, can costume designers use the same costume design, but just make the costumes from scratch? Or does it have to be a different design? Same thing with future regional productions... could a regional theter company, with an accomidating proscenium, do the original set design, and have a rotating stage, or no? How bout if they credit John Napier?

At the moment, I believe school editions are required to base their sets and costumes off the official production.

I wish I could get my hands on the actual contract, but I think you're right -- most LMSE pictures I've found have Enjolras in the red and gold waistcoat, even if the rest of the costumes look really cracked-out or like they've been borrowed from some other show.

(Then again, one of the LMSEs I saw had a Valjean dressed like Horatio Hornblower, but it could've been just another school with a crazy, contract-violating director, since they also added back in the longer "Little People"...)

Well, I know at least that the revolving barricade is required, because the techies at my former high school were complaining about having to stand inside it and push. Laughing

The production I was in had almost Broadway status costumes. But... they were rented. So that could be why. Laughing

Yes, but say when the refgional rights are released, if a theter company did every single aspect of the set design the same, and they credited John Napier, would that be considered illegal?

It would be unethical and probably illegal.

The regional rights are already out (however restricted).
