I don't know how many of you noticed the French ice dance team Pechelat and Bourzat skating to Les Mis in the last Olympics. My head almost exploded from the cross-fandom. http://youtube.com/watchv=9rewdy_g4oQ
Anyway, a US pairs team Tiffany Vise and Derek Trent is also using Les Mis music this season. I actually hadn't seem them skate but saw a picture of them online and thought "That looks like an Enjy vest; are they skating to Les Mis?" It turns out they are.

The music of "Les Miserables" is a poplar choice among figure skaters to use for a program. Michelle Kwan's "On My Own" is one of my favorite exhibition programs of hers. I love it when figure skaters use musical theater music, it combines two things I enjoy. Edited to add a link to another one of my favorite Les Mis skating programs. This is Nicole Bobek at the 1993 U.S. Nationals. She didn't skate the program prefectly, but I would have put her on the world team that year.

Oh thanks for that! I knew Kurt Browning and Todd Eldredge had also used Les Mis but I didn't know that Nicole used it too! I love her; she has such charisma on the ice.
