In My Life - solo version

Is there one? I know there is a solo version of Defying Gravity from Wicked with some parts changed so that it makes sense, and I'm wondering if there's something similar for this song. I really want to sing something from Les Mis for a voice concert but I know my instructor won't let me do anything lower-range, so that's why I'm asking...

...I suppose the solo version of the song would simply be the first part of the song, before Valjean steps in. Very Happy

Yep, there is.
It's in (I believe) The Teen's Musical Theatre Anthology book.

it's in Singer's musical theatre anthology soprano vol. 3

THANKS! Wow, that just turned my day from a bad one to a good one.

I wouldn't waste your money. I went to the music store and found the song in that book and several others...but it really was just Cosette's part from the beginning of the song. Not even two pages. Needless to say I was supremely disappointed. Someday, maybe...

Are you sure you didn't look at the audition book by mistake? I know the one in the audition book is sixteen bars.

No, I'm sorry I guess I wasn't very clear. I meant the full song with the lyrics changed so that it makes sense as a solo. Thanks anyways though.

Eponine93- Yes, I'm positive.

If you have music for either the solo version (ie. in the Musical Theatre Anthology) or the actual version, you can be crafty about it and make it work - I scribbled all over my solo version with key changes and stuff to make it a bit longer. Smile

I found the sheet music for "I Saw Him Once" the other day Shocked Didn't even know that existed!

(Same goes for 'The Sacred Bird' from Miss Saigon, which was in the same book).

Oh wow, what book?
Fantine

It was in a book with collections from the work of Boublil and Schonberg. Sadly I didn't feel like taking it with me the other day, but I will return to that library and get it, then I can scan the pages Smile
There was another cut Miss Saigon song in there. (wasn't Too Much for one Heart though, sadly).
