Is the Les Miz US tour still touring? We have Les Miz coming to Atlanta but I'm not sure it is a National Tour. Is there still a US National tour or could this be some sort of regional production?

The production in Atlanta is actually a mini-tour between Wolf Trap, Kansas City Starlight, and Theatre of the Stars.
The tour most people are thinking of closed in St. Louis two years ago.

Yes. It has. *shakes fist at heavens*
I think the 3rd national tour would've still been filling houses and turning out a nice profit. Don't know why they had to close it. I reeeeeally want to see the current mini-tour, though! Too bad it isn't swinging by here.

So the set could go to Broadway?
The show hadn't been selling well in the summer for the last few years of its run (hence the annual lay off). Maybe they were being precautionary.

That is interesting, I would think summer would have been one of the their best times, with people taking vacations from work and school. I also think maybe it was felt that the tour seemed old and worn out, and that is another reason they decided it would be a good time to close it.

I'm not really sure how that whole summer thing came about, but at the time of one of the first summer lay offs, I had a friend majoring in theatrical administration (I believe) at Emerson, and she said Les Miz had apparently not done well for several summers at that point. It sounds like they decided to cut their losses.
