Fantine

Jo is coming back as Fantine!

"Jo is returning to London's West End to reprise her critically acclaimed portrayal of Fantine in the production of Les Mis beginning January 29th and continuing until June 23rd. Ticket information is available through the Les Mis link on Jo's Links page.

Don't miss this chance to see Joanna again in the Cameron Mackintosh production of Les Mis at the Queens Theater London.

www.JoAmpil.com is the official internet home of the incomparable Joanna Ampil. "

Guess the directors weren't too thrilled by Sophia either.

Applause Yay! I never got to see Joanna Ampil, but I've heard audio clips of her portryals of both Eponine and Fantine, and she seems great! It's kind of sad though. Sophia's Fantine, although I was appalled at it the first time I saw her, was just beginning to grow on me. It's a shame I won't be able to see her again before she leaves. It's great that Joanna is returning though.

Does anyone know why the change over?

Jo is an amazing Fantine, one of the best IMHO. She's well worth going to see live, if you haven't done so already.

Ouch!!!

I remember reading on this very forum that it was always planned for Sophia to leave in January, just can't find that reference at the moment Smile

Jo is brilliant as Fantine and there couldn't be a better replacement for Sophia Smile I just need to plan a few more trips to London before the end of January.

Now if only they could get her to replace Daphne Rubin-Vega on Broadway.

I'm sorry dear, judging from the BBC concert version I didn't feel that Fantine was the role for her. Smile

If you find out why she's leaving, do tell Smile
