JOJ ?

is anyone going to Les Mis in the next few days that could ask him a ? I'm just curious WHAT it was that made him blurt out the F word in that Phantom Performance a few years ago. did we ever figure it out?
Orestes Fasting

Hell with questions, I'd be impressed if anyone managed to get more than three words out of him at the stage door before he escaped.
Trevor reincarnate

He did that? How funny.
Even JOJ can be unprofessional at times I guess.

Every time I've seen him he's slipped away as quickly as he could--he'll stop and sign things if you ask, of course, but he doesn't really talk to anyone. Which is odd considering some of the stage door stories I've heard out of London. Wink Maybe he's afraid of Americans?
Trevor reincarnate

What I mean is... the F-bomb story.
Orestes Fasting

Aaaaah. Yes, that's a true story. I have evidence. Twisted Evil

Oooh. I'd like to hear this evidence. Twisted Evil

Maybe he's been traumatised by the stage door ever since his last performance in London... he ended up completely surrounded by fans (all the other actors went straight back into the theatre as soon as they saw the crowd). First he just signed programmes, but then one person asked for a photo and suddenly everyone came back for one. Poor, poor JOJ...
But that's what he deserved for leaving us. Razz
Electricity24601

I'm going next Sunday (weeee!)
I intend to grill him on future plans, though, so don't want to totally overdo it.
I think he's already a bit scared of me...

I've been able to get some good stagedoor chats out of him, OF. It's a lot more relaxed in London- less people and no barriers. It also helps if you go with fans who go so often he knows them by name and face... Very Happy
When I went on his first broadway night he even wrote me a birthday message for my friend (which she later presented to me as part of a broadway scrapbook) He wrote happy birthday in Welsh- how cute is that?

Oh dear. Crazy JOJ, lol.
LesMisForever

So, those of you who have seen him, how did you find him? did he lived up to the hype?
mastachen

I listened to the audio of him freaking out during Phantom... but what made him freak out?
lesmisloony

Sounded like a joke to me...

Anyone have thoughts? (I mean, I know you have *thoughts*, but related to... to... you know. Joke.)
Timmy_Wishes he was Quast

It's when she takes of his mask. Because she's seen how he really looks he fears/knows that she will never love him.
mastachen

Yeah, I know that lol, but why did he break character and freak out? Just for fun? lol
Trevor reincarnate

How was that breaking character? I think he was very IN character.
Orestes Fasting

A little too in character, even.
lesmisloony

"OMG YOU TRAMPSLUT WHOREBITCH HOW COULD YOU DO THIS TO MEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!"

Wink
Orestes Fasting

Now you'll have to stay in my batcave forever!
Trevor reincarnate

Too in character, yes.
But definately not out of character.
Timmy_Wishes he was Quast

Agreed...i think it's brilliant. THough it does scare me that he gets that "in" to a character. But wasn't that why Colm and Rebecca Caine fell out in the Canadian production? He was a little bit too into character? (I know thats a little o/t but it's all about Les Mis performers, just a different show?) Smile

I. Love. That. Parody. I love all the parodies that author writes, really. But she was dead on with Phantom.

I never heard of Colm and Rebecca falling out but I always thought it was creepy that they went from surrogate father and surrogate daughter to stalker and stalkee with Les Mis and Phantom.

The story I heard about the F-bomb was that it was JOJ's last night and he wanted to go out with a bang, so he swore the hell out of that scene.

As for the Caine/Wilkinson war, I've been given decent proof that it's true, though I can't say how it started. Apparently though, some arguments started because Caine wasn't followign blocking exactly and things started getting violent...supposedley Wilkinson actually broke Caine's wrist once Shocked .

Actually, it wasn't JOJ's last night in Phantom when he sort of freaked out! It was 2003 (maybe 04), Nicky Adams was Christine and Ramin Karimloo was Raoul.
