Kind of O/T- The Pirate Queenhttp://www.thepiratequeen.com/New musical by Al and Claude, 'The Pirate Queen' has a video up with a bit of the music. I can't say I'm overly impressed, but there's not much to judge on and it might grow on me if I hear it properly and can get over my hatred for Irish folk music. Anyone live in or near Chicago who's going? |

WHAT?! I wish I could go and see it so much. I wish they were still opening in Dublin like a rumour once suggested *sigh*. |

Is that an a) "You hate Irish folk music! How could you?" type of 'WHAT?!' or b) a "Claude and Al are writing Irish Folk Music?" type of 'WHAT?!' ? |

hehehehehe, I thought you'd all heard about my role this week. I've not been about because I have been playing the newly created [by me] role of The Pirate Queen in The Pirates of Penzance. [It is normally just a Pirate King, my role was written in.] It was great fun cos I had to be totally revolting. Loved it!! [I had wanted to go the whole sexy black corsett, boots and low cut top way but the director was very clear that she was NOT an attractive woman as this would have spoiled the plot with Frederick not having seen any women other than Ruth.]
Here's a couple of pics to make you laugh. I admit I was amused at the name of the character beeing the same as this new show too. |

Hello
@Moci's WHATs. I do actually like Irish music and i am interested in this new work, but i don't think these two can produce something like "Les Miserables" again. Aimee..you look pretty cool in that second picture |

Um, yeah, I don't really like Irish Folk music, it just always seems really bland to me and Riverdance normally makes me want to hit my head against a brick wall. |

Yeah, the Riverdance is pretty crappy.
Go to a pub in Ireland somewhere and listen to a real Irish music session. It's wonderful. |
