Les Miserables Limited Edition Coat

I was browsing on eBay, and I stumbled across this. Though I don't like the look of the coat (and that it is horrendously expensive), I thought it was interesting:

Good God why is that so expensive?! It looks home made! You can print a thing like that everywhere for far less than 500 pounds. Jesus, that's 1.500 euros, 1.350 US dollars!! Shocked

Furthermore... James... James Who? Who is this James, which role did he play in New Jersey in 1987? Why can't he spell 'Les Miserables' correctly?

That looks so tacky. I wouldn't pay 5 let alone 500.

Someone will buy it but not for that price. I bet he has to drop the price before it sells.

It doesn't say the production was in NJ. It just means it was made there.

Possibly for the OBC, or one of the first casts of the first, second, or third national tours.

You'd be surprised how many actors have the same spelling ability as the people here on the boards.

I have my doubts over him having been in the cast; the purchase history for this seller shows he bought a Les Mis souvenir thimble recently. Just doesn't quite add up for me.

The probabilitythat he wasn't in the cast is far higher. The coat looks exceedingly tacky: very easily bought a cheap coat and heat transfered all the logos etc onto the coat. Then, to make it seem genuine, and to prevent people from finding otherwise, he says that they are 'limited edition' and were only made for a specific tour. Then, he'll get fools and idiots thinking "Oh my God, I have to but that - it's to do with Les Miserables! And it's limited edition and it is expensive, so must be genuine!". So he probably will, if he keeps trying, sell it to a person who won't look twice at the quality, and thus won't question if it's genuine or not.

I've seen actual cast and crew wear jackets very similar if not the exact same as the one up for auction -- whether or not it looks awful doesn't really matter to me, but it does look authentic.

The more recent ones tend to be black, but I know I've seen these grey + grey ones on people who've been with the show longer.

Grey sleeves, grey rest of the jacket.
