Listening Game

Inspired by my new obsession with blind listening. Here is another Lamarque is Dead comparison. But they are no names. Only numbers. You just have to write down the number of your favorites and less favorites enjolrati, and in a week I will post the answers.
Some of the voices are easily recognizable but I am curious to see how they score among those who dont identify them. Dont give away any names!
Have fun:

Orestes Fasting

1. I think I know who this is, and I might even know what show it's from. Wink Kind of lukewarm through most of it, but that is a very nice gratuitously-held-out "call."
2. Average Broadway-or-3nt Enjolras. Solid but not standout. Again, nice last note.
3. Dude, I know who you are, and I know you have that note. It was pure vocal sex until you chickened out on it.
4. Stay with the orchestra! The rhythms aren't optional, jeez. And learn some breath support.
5. Muddy pronunciation, otherwise okay.
6. Nice.
7. Fairly distinctive. I'll never like his interpretation, but he did have a nice voice back in the day.
8. Good vocals, but too overtly American for my ears.
9. Loved his voice at the beginning, but I was expecting more fullness in the upper register. Oh well, still solid.
10. Oh hell yes.
11. I don't like his held-out notes--too closed, and they sound kind of forced.
12. Trainwreck. And I apologize to whoever's American accent I complained about before, yeesh.
13. I like baritones. Even when they randomly shout parts of their lines.
14. Oh charming, a vocal lightweight with a metronome hidden in one ear.
15. Oooh, fierce.
16. Not my favorite.
Ulla Dance Again!

Oh, this is fun. I'll have to have another listen, though, because I have a certain amount of numbers listed.

Ooh, this is fun.

1. I liked him, I think he had a good voice. The orchestra was really weird though!
2. Again, really nice ... not superlative, but nice.
3. Wa -- I mean, this one -- has a nice tone, really. But he chickens out the last note and is very, very shouty.
4. Oh no. Not quite. Bad. Nice last note though.
5. I kind of like this one. Goes flat on the last note, but his tone is nice.
6. YEEESSSSSSS.
7. Oh Michael. This is great.
8. Pretty good.
9. Really full lower voice, great down there. And not half bad upper register either!
10. Very light, but quite good.
11. Not bad. Not brilliant, but not bad.
12. Oh crap. I'm actually laughing now. How terribly obvious. And terribly ... not good.
13. His voice sounds so low in comparison to Drewjolras'. He's unspectacular.
14. He was a little pitchy, but I liked his tone. Until, of course, his voice cracked. OUCH.
15. Very pitchy at the beginning ... okay, he fixed that. But his tone is really nasal.
16. "his death is the sign we awaaaaa(flat)it." Otherwise, quite nice though.

well, you don't need to list everyone. It is appreciated if you do it, of course but I know it is a lot of wortk. your favorites and less favorites are enough
windbelle

I have the impression that I've heard at least half of them, but cannot remember...

1. Nice job. I actually like it.
2. Pretty voice but a little in lack of strength. Nice CALL.
3. Hmm, the last note. Never understand why. A little bit rash. Not sure it's the tempo of the audio or something.Apart from that, quite dynamic and passionate.
4. An OK job. The voice is a little crude for my taste.
5. Oh, NO. Too vulgar to my ears. CALL sounds like broken.
6. Weak at the first line, and then build up strength. Overall nice job.
7. Good job. Loved his voice once but somehow find his voice a little nasal for my taste now. Pretty good last note.
8. Great voice. I like it.
9. Strength fades at the end. Pretty good job overall.
10. Dynamic phrasing. A little light in the middle. Good last note.
11. Don't like his last note.
12. Sounds ok at the first line, then he scares me again. Nice last note though.
13. A little weird in his choices of shouting lines. HIS DEATH...scares me a tad. Last note sounds a little vague.
14. Fine.
15. Hmm, no.
16. Last note a bit forced. Otherwise ok.
The Pirate King

1. Sounds familiar. I think I have this one. Revival, I wanna say. It's been a while. Not bad, but far too warbly.
2. Solid voice, but not quite enough presence for my tastes.
3. If this is who I think it is, I completely agree with Orestes.
4. Not that bad at all. Not my favourite, but not terrible.
5. Same as previous.
6. Very nice. Not sure I know this one.
7. What Orestes said.
8. Kind of weird at the beginning, stylistically. But overall, pretty good.
9. Pretty cool. A lot of strength.
10. Not the usual voice, but again, not bad.
11. Control the vibrato, man.
12. What is there to be said?
13. Random screaming reminds me of Crivello's Javert. But not as good. WTF is with his pronunciation on the last note?
14. O_o. Sounds so strong. That was a joke.
15. Pronunciation. And that damn Les Mis vibrato! I love vibrato and all, but THIS, must be stopped!
16. Pretty good.
curlyhairedsoprano91

Shooo when do we get the answers?
lizavert

Hokay, here we go.

1. Pretty good. And nice breath control on "caaaaaall".
2. Not bad, not great, but not bad.
3. Okay, first of all, ease up on the shouting. Second, I know you have that note, I was listening to it this morning. So why chicken out?
4. Tempo man!
5. Okay, a little heavy on the vibrato though.
6. Pretty good actually.
7. Now why couldn't you have sounded like that on the TAC? Hmmm?
8. Didn't like the last note, but otherwise pretty good.
9. Last note was good, not sure about the rest though.
10. Very nice!
11. Good. *nods*
12. Aside from that accent, not bad.
13. Okay, but sort of...meh.
14. Last note. Need I say more?
15. Accent again. Round out your vowels man.
16. Pretty good. But that last note does seem to bring quite a few of them down.

They always win.
Orestes Fasting

Just out of curiosity, is the Max von Essen clip from closing night or one of the shows right before it?
bigR

Not sure. I don't have my hard drive with me right now. I'll tell you as soon as I can check it. Remind me if I forget!
