London Cast?

Hello,
I went to see Les Mis London yesterday, 29th December. But I have no idea what cast was on that night nor where I could have seen that... Can anyone help me finding out what cast was on on 29th December in London?
Thanks!

Take a look at

Was it good?

A cast list would have been in a program as well as on a board in the theatre entrance. Any understudies would have been announced before the show. What did you think of it? Smile

Yes, I have a programme book, so I know who could have been on, but I was wondering whether there were any understudies. What do you mean by "Would be announced before the show"?
It was absolutely amazing, even better than the Dutch cast and I was already really enthusiastic about that! Smile

There's always an announcement in the auditorium right before the show starts, to introduce the show and say who the conductor is etc. If there are understudies they'll have been announced then.

So glad you enjoyed it and loved the cast! I also think they're fantastic, although I wish I could see the Dutch cast too.

You should definitely see the dutch cast! Wink I've seen the show 3 times and i've been in the pit 3 times. (Obviously I live in the Netherlands Wink ) I think Freek Bartels was a brilliant Enjolras, pity he left to play Joseph now. Though Rene van Kooten and all the others are great too. I absolutely love Wim van den Driessche as Javert, I think he's just as good as Earl Carpenter!

This was the most recent thread I could find about the London cast.
The Elaine Paige radio show last Sunday featured interviews and performances by Nancy Sullivan, Earl Carpenter and Jon Robyns from the current London cast! They say some interesting things about interpreting the roles and performing in the show, and while I was never wild about Jon Robyns' Empty Chairs at Empty Tables, Stars and On My Own are really worth listening to Very Happy

The interview starts at about 34 minutes, but I really recommend listening to Earl Carpenter's Stars at around 45 minutes - not as great as he is in the show but it gives you an idea.

BBC iPlayer service is unfriendly as it only allows UK audience to listen to its recordings, usually for one week only. Here are Youtube links of the same stuff.

BBC2 interview

This interview is no longer available to hear online and I missed it!!!!
Crying or Very sad

Could someone please give an overview of what the cast said?
I am really really keen to hear!
music is my life!!!

BASICALLY:

Marius was fittttttt (at least that's what he sounded like Razz)
Eponine (Sullivan) was quite good, although i prefer eponine not to be so squeaky tbh :/ Her OMO was really good, but i didn't feel like she really went for it Sad
Javert was WICKED!!!!

Jon Robyns spoke about how he wanted to perform in as different a show as possible after Avenue Q (his previous show) and said that Marius was a role he had always wanted to play.

Nancy Sullivan talked about creating the role of Chloe in Never Forget, and said that although she was able to interpret that role for herself, she had expected to be told exactly what to do for Eponine. It surprised me actually when she said that she was specifically told to find her own interpretation of the character, and that she specifically wanted to bring more of the street waif to the character than she'd seen before. She also had apparently seen Les Mis six times before being cast in it.

Earl Carpenter said that he was in Les Mis very early on in his career, and also said that he was allowed to interpret the role for himself. He also spoke a bit about Javert as a character, but we know all that already Razz .

I liked the recordings, but I did think that all of them are far better live, actually in the show. Earl Carpenter's voice sounds amazing as usual, but I was never wild about Jon Robyns' voice and Nancy Sullivan's strong point has always been her acting I think.
