London Miz clipsPlease don't blast me for this.Does anyone have clips of Joanna Ampil as Eponine. Or her as Fantine, or any other clips of various Eponine's from the London casts? You can PM me if you wish. I have stuff to trade if you like. Thanks! |
||||||||
Sairin |
PMing you. | ||||||||
Moci |
If it's Jo Ampil or anyone interesting can you PM me too?
javertsw |
Me too.
I love Jo Ampil (and she's leaving!) |
||||||||
Sairin |
Tell you what, I will have a go with Yousendit and try to get it up here.

Joanna Ampil as Eponine, July '01. Edit: this has now been tested and works fine for me. Note: this is a .m4a file. If you can't play this, you need to download iTunes. |

Joanna Ampil as Fantine, can't remember the date but it must be fairly recent, 2003 or 2004 I think. This is an .mp3 file. Any other requests, ask away and I'll see what I've got. |

Carmen Cusack, my favourite Fantine EVER. |
||||||||
Meliara |
Carmen is my favorite Fantine too. I wish I could see her perform in person. I think she's on the US tour right now.
The Very Angry Woman |
She hasn't been on the US tour since the summer of 2002. |
||||||||
Sairin |
Yeah, there's been no news on her for almost a year sadly.
Moci |
Is there anyway that the Jo Ampil Eponine clip could be in a different format? My computer hates itunes.
piscesmoni |
Woot. Alanna, do you have stuff from Sophia, Lydia, Jon, or Oliver?
Sairin |
Currently nothing on those four, will let you know if I turn anything up.
I will also do Ampil/Eponine in mp3. But for now I have the following: Julia Mller - In My Life One Day More - Current London cast Valjean = Sean Kingsley Javert = EDIT: Mark Dickinson, NOT McCarthy, I was wrong Fantine = Joanna Ampil Marius = Gary Tushaw Cosette = Julia Mller Eponine = Gemma Wardle Enjolras = Ramin Karimloo Thnardier = Stephen Tate Mme. Thnardier = Katy Secombe |
||||||||
Piece of Crap II |
MM sounds alot like Robert Hunt.
Sairin |
You mean that Mark Dickinson sounds a lot like Robert Hunt *see edit*.
I have no Robert Hunt. *gives meaningful look* |
||||||||
Sairin |
Red And Black - Oliver Thornton, 2003 London Cast
One Day More - London 2003 Cast Haven't checked, but this *should* be: Valjean: Jeff Leyton Javert: Mike McCarthy (Fantine: Jo Ampil) Cosette: Lydia Griffiths Marius: Jon Lee Eponine: Sophia Ragavelas Enjolras: Oliver Thornton Thnardier: Stephen Tate Mme. Thnardier: Katy Secombe |
||||||||
Piece of Crap II |
Aww dang, isn't that the guy who is supposed to sound like Allam? Jeff Leyton really rules!! I actually like MM's voice...but I can't stand how he's pronouncing "s" like "sh". |
||||||||
Sairin |
Mark Dickinson is, I think, supposed to sound a *bit* like Allam. That is more his interpretation (he is definitely not from teh school of Quast like McCarthy), but I don't think he sounds that much like Allam vocally.
Meliara |
Thanks Sairin! Wow. | ||||||||
Sairin |
Hold onto your hats, I just got a bit more wonderful.
Sophia Ragavelas and Jon Lee - A Little Fall Of Rain It's a bit quiet, so you'll have to turn it up. Joanna Ampil - On My Own, cuz this I originally promised. Now mp3, for those of you who don't like m4a. And of course, my clip montage would not be complete without the following. This blows roofs of houses and makes me cry to listen to it, so see what you've got to look forward to. It is, of course: John Owen-Jones - Bring Him Home |
||||||||
Fantine |
Thanks for the Sophia and Jon one
Meliara |
Yeeeess! Thanks very much. Do you have a picture of John Owen Jones as Valjean? I keep hearing about him but didn't get to see him perform.

Moci |
Thanks Sairin!
You don't happen to have Jon Lee & Sophia Ragavelas' 'Eponine's Errand' do you? I used to, but accidently deleted it. |
||||||||
Sairin |
Thanks TVAW.
I want to hear what everyone thinks of JOJ. As for pictures, check out johnowenjones.com and there are a few there (he played other roles before Valjean, including Grantaire and u/s Enjolras). Fraid not Moci, I don't have a complete of that cast. I'll let you know if I turn anything up. |
||||||||
Moci |
OK, thanks.
Anyone else? I know it was on LondonLesMis.co.uk for a while. |
||||||||
Fantine |
Nope... But I do have the whole current cast. With the understudies for Mme Thenardier, Valjean and Marius.
Sairin |
GODWIN!!
*goes away* |
||||||||
piscesmoni |
Uh...you're fabulous, Sairin! No less.
Sairin |
I am. Now people, what do you think of the JOJmeister?!
Moci |
He's good. I prefer the clips that I've heard of him as Phantom and obviously, he's not Jeff Leyton, but he does sound great! I just hope I'll be able to see him. |
||||||||
liss |
Jeff Leyton rocks! I met him once, when the cast of our Les Mis production saw it at Queens ages ago...we met him backstage....he's so friendly as well!
Liss xxx |
||||||||
Sairin |
I agree, he hasn't got the 'Valjean sound' we associate with Colm et al., and the first time I was like 'oohkay better Phantom'. But vocally he's more than equipped for the role, and his acting really measures up as well.
Plus, it's a chance for the non-phans to experience his greatness. |
||||||||
Moci |
Or actually see him instead of 'The Complete Bootlegged JOJ'. I think we've all heard him as Valjean by now |
||||||||
Sairin |
And so you should. Can never have too much JOJ.
Piece of Crap II |
Well thanks for all these...
The current London Cast sounds TIGHT on One Day More it makes me all tingly and all I need is a cheeseburger now and I'd be great. |
||||||||
Moci |
The way Gary Tushaw says 'dare' makes me laugh when listening to 'One Day More'. I don't know why.
Sairin |
It's because he's a very silly boy.
I will try and dig out his Every Day, as that's the only bit of his performance I actually liked... |
||||||||
piscesmoni |
Um, I completely love Joanna Ampil after I heard those two clips. Sophia didn't impress me TOO much; I think she is good, but her ALFOR was rather choppy and it got a bit annoying after a while. Thanks again, Sairin!
Sairin |
Woot. Joanna is very good, there are a couple of bits that prevent her from being a personal favourite, but overall she's extremely strong in the role. Sophia sounded pretty much like every other Eponine, and it's not a character I care for anyway.
Piece of Crap II |
Yeah something about how she says "pretending" really quickly... |
||||||||
Meliara |
Joanna's "pretending" kicks major ass
Moci |
I prefer Jo as Fantine to her Eponine (although, if you have her 'A Little Fall of Rain with Niklas Andersson too )
Sairin |
Sadly not. It would be a good one to find though, I've never heard the chap...
Yeah, that 'pretending' gets on my nerves. |
||||||||
Moci |
I used to have his ECAET. But it got lost when my computer went weird.
javertsw |
I think I prefer her as Fantine, although I can't really judge from just one clip of her.
Joanna is just amazing whatever she does. |
||||||||
Chris1 |
Aha! Found my little bandwidth thief....naughty Sairin.
I'll let you off this time but only because its you. Anyhow, here are some totally random Les Mis files I have uploaded anyway, if you have any specific requests then feel free to ask. Tim Godwin http://www.chris.ripside.com/phantomfans/02-Valjean's%20Soliloquy.mp3 Peter Karrie http://www.chris.ripside.com/phantomfans/03-Valjean's%20Soliloquy.mp3 Mike Sterling http://www.chris.ripside.com/phantomfans/04%20-%20Valjean's%20Soliloquy.mp3 Stig Rossen (Valjean) & Ethan Freeman (Javert) http://www.chris.ripside.com/phantomfans/10-Confrontation.mp3 Final Broadway Performance (Vid) http://www.chris.ripside.com/phantomfans/One%20Day%20More%20-%20Final%20Broadway%20Performance_output(1).wmv |
||||||||
Piece of Crap II |
That one with Ethan Freeman...yikes...I liek Stig Rossen's voice alot though.
So how much Javert do you have? |
||||||||
Sairin |
I apologise once more, and thanks for the goodies. |
||||||||
Fantine |
That was beautiful. It made me cry. I think I'll die if Les Mis ever closes in the West End. |
||||||||
Meliara |
Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!
for the final One Day More performance. That is one of the greatest things! Too bad that person sitting in front of the camera decided to get all squirmy right as Eponine was singing, grrr. But other than that, Fabu! (heehee. You wouldn't happen to have any more vid's would you? ) |
||||||||
Quique |
Video......Yeah, thanks for that. You made my decade with that video, hehehe!Do you happen to have the final Broadway performance's "Finale," "At the End of the Day" or "On My Own"? I would die happy if you could share those, especially one of the final "Finale." Thanks again! |

OH! Thank you so much for that video I loved the way the audience reacted to Enjolras entrance. |

Finally back from holiday!
Thank you for posting the Sophia and Jon clip. I downloaded it from Londonlesmis ages ago and then my Dad somehow deleted it when he was reformating the computer after it was taken off the site. It's good to have it again. |

Re: Video......
Here is the only one I have uploaded at the moment... On My Own - Diana Kaarina - Final Broadway Performance Love that note on "known". |
||||||||
Quique |
Re: Video......
THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU LOTS! Now, why didn't she always do "On My Own" like that? I saw her twice as Eponine and was horrorfied to see she was an exact clone of Lea on the 10th Anniversary Concert. Here, she actually was pretty good. I'm sure the fact that it was the final performance had a lot to do with it, but even so, she was pretty darn good here. Thanks again! That made my quarter century......swoon.......*dies.* |
||||||||
The Very Angry Woman |
Re: Video......
Because it would be obnoxious and uncalled for on any other occasion. |
||||||||
Quique |
Re: Video......
Well, yeah...she was a tad bit crybaby there, but she was still better than when I saw her on tour and on Broadway. I kept expecting her to tear off her mask and reveal it's really Lea up there. She even had that "I know I'm on stage and a lot of people are watching me" look, that Lea had throughout the concert. One thing Diana did, that got on my nerves, was the constant content look upon her face. She looked as if she were about to start singing the national anthem. She still has smiling/smirking problems in this clip, but at least she seems a bit more focused than when I saw her. |
||||||||
Chris1 |
Glad not only I was annoyed by that, at the end she looked as though she wanted to burst out laughing. |
||||||||
The Very Angry Woman |
I was annoyed by that every time I saw her as Eponine. Probably around a dozen times. |
||||||||
Meliara |
It's like "Look at me, I've lost my love and everything that was ever dear to me in this life. Smile!"
Thanks for the clip btw!! *gets down on knees and presents cookies* May I make a request for "Attack on rue Plumett"? |
||||||||
The Very Angry Woman |
If you're referring to the final Broadway performance, don't believe that was ever videotaped. At least not in its entirety. |
||||||||
Moci |
Is there a point to her holding 'known' for that long?
The Very Angry Woman |
Showing off. And besides, it was the last performance -- what were they going to do, fire her? |
||||||||
LesMisForever |
Hello
Thank you very much for the clip. Really very nice of you to do that As for the singer, well, i didn't like her that much. As said above, she has smiling/smirking problem, and that "Known" was held as TVAW said just to show off. I know i am ignorant in notes, and what should be held, and what shouldn't, but that was blatant showing off. I don't know how she looked from little bit of distance, but this close up camera showed her doing some edgy movments. Sorry, but not one to be remembered for me. |
||||||||
eponine_1832 |
It's good to be back I've finally got that Sophia photo printed, i'll scan it and post it up asap |
||||||||
Quique |
Yeah, if you think she is bad there, you can only imagine how bad she was during regular performances. Well, to me at least, she was much worse on tour and on Broadway when I saw her. I felt absolutely nothing for her Eponine. |
||||||||
Quique |
Welcome back, nice to have you here with us once again. Been wondering what happened to you, hehe. |
||||||||
Moci |
And why did she get a clap for it too? It's like when people clap just because someone hits a high note. |
||||||||
The Very Angry Woman |
Same thing. And she's sort of the Darling of Les Miz, so there you go. |
||||||||
Fantine |
I do agree. She should have spared her breath for the last 'own' instead. |
||||||||
Tania |
Can I ask for a few requests, please? I would really like full versions of "Look Down" and "The Robbery/Jarvet's Intervention" from the current London Queens theatre cast if anyone has them. Thanks so much.
Piece of Crap II |
I request that as well. |
||||||||
Sairin |
I can offer you Godwin and McCarthy, or Kingsley and Dickinson...?
Tania |
I just watched the Diana Kaarina and although she sang OMW beautifully that "known" note was RIDICULOUS. Showing off, indeed. Yeah it might've been the last performence but did she really need to do that? I don't think so. I kept wondering when she was going to get on with the rest of the song already. And her facial expressions kind of spoilt it, too. She looked so damn smug and far too happy, like she was high or something.
Tania |
|
||||||||
Sairin |
Either, but yes. Not now though, I have stuff going, but I will try and do it in the next few days.
Tania |
|
||||||||
LesMisForever |
Hello
I add my voice to McCarthy. That would make my half century hehehe Enrique |
||||||||
Moci |
Can't you splice Godwin and Dickinson?
LMF- have you got dual personalities or something? |
||||||||
LesMisForever |
Hello
Moci, maybe it is that Schizophrenia you were talking about Actually, this post imply different thing from what i intended it to be. I only meant to tease Enrique little bit, but it looked like i am signing as Enrique. But i didn't bother to change it, because it was obvious that i am just joking. |
||||||||
Quique |
Hehehe. I'm silly aren't I? Um, more like loco. |
||||||||
Quique |
No, I'm the one with the multiple personalities. Right Henry? (I call myself Henry, but only when I'm angry with myself ) Honest....... |
||||||||
javertsw |
Hehe, didn't that get taken nearly a year ago!? |
||||||||
Fantine |
You guys get me so confused! |
||||||||
Piece of Crap II |
I've heard McCarthy's JI, how about the other three. |
||||||||
Meliara |
Does anyone have any clips of Laura Michelle Kelly as Eponine? I heard her sing Unexpected Song and she was fabulous. Would love to hear her sing song Les Miz.
blackjack |
Does anyone have an audio (or video) of 'The Robbery' (all of it)?
Thanks xxxxxx |
||||||||
LesMisForever |
Hello
My first ever Eponine was Laura Michelle Kelly, but i can't really remember the performance itself. I only remember feeling very sorry for that poor girl in the long coat. Unfortunately, i never had the chance to see her again. |
||||||||
eponine_1832 |
That's the one. I'm a bit on the slow side... |
||||||||
Fantine |
Kirsty, I miss you! I haven't spoken properly to you for aaaages
Chris1 |
I can't do the Look Down (well, I can, but not tonight), but here is the other clip plus McCarthy's stars... Javert's Intervention - Current London Cast Stars - Michael McCarthy |
||||||||
Chris1 |
I thought I'd add this too, as it goes well with the audience reaction thread. Just listen to the 30 seconds of applause...
